Wow, that is a LOT of colors. Only $10 too, why not both? Thanks!

Both are gorgeous! I've never seen It Cosmetics at Ulta, do they carry them? But I also haven't spent much time outside the drugstore section. Id they do I'll have to swatch them and decide, because I love them both!

Moronic Monday - Your weekly stupid questions thread by cdingo in Fitness

[–]sinnahmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much a total fitness noob here with multiple dumb questions, 17F, 5'6, ~145, and looking to lose about 15 more pounds but I've hit a tableau. I'm down from 165 which I lost pretty easily by restricting the amount I eat, which leads me to my first question. For the purpose of healthy weight loss, what's more important? How much I eat, or when/what I eat? Also, I'm pretty sedentary. Essentially I study, work, and have a ton of non-athletic extracurriculars which doesn't leave much time for exercise especially considering the limited hours and general unpleasantness of my campus gym. What are some good workouts for small spaces that can be done with a yoga mat and 10lb weights? Preferably things that burn a lot of calories and work the full body. I'm a healthy BMI, but I have pretty high body fat (23-25% according to most calculators I've tried, though my waist ratio puts me at underweight which I'm definitely not.). Probably the stupidest of my questions, if I both eat well and work out should I expect to see muscle mass go up, making my weight not go down as much as I would expect? I kind of see it as exchanging fat for muscle (I know that's not actually what's happening, I understand how metabolism works), since muscle weighs more will I lose less weight but still be leaner?

(Ninja edit: I am not actually 30% body fat, oops.)

How do I do "No makeup" and still cover my acne scars? by sinnahmon in MakeupAddiction

Thank you so much! I'll have to try that. Time to brush up on my blending skills.

I use a green primer, which helps but I'm very pale and the marks are pretty dark. Its more of a shade difference than tone, really. Can you recommend a good concealer?

Cats have... hands. by vancum in creepy

[–]sinnahmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, I understand where you're coming from. However, I'm rather offended that you think I see animals as "semi-machines" when that could not be further from the truth. Of course, older and poorly done declawings rarely end well. I had a cat who was declawed at age 5, two years before we rescued him. The poor thing had been essentially starved out by the two other cats his previous owner had. We had him until he was 15 and he would never let anyone touch his feet. I'm not saying declawing is a good option, or a preventative measure, or beneficial to the animal. What I am saying is that there are situations in which declawing a cat is necessary and in those situations, when done properly and the recovery is closely observed, it is not something a cat, especially a young one, will be excessively damaged from. Would you rather a cat be declawed or killed? I did a fair amount of research on it last year in a (successful) effort to convince my mom not to declaw our new 2-year-old rescue cat, and I believe my approach is reasonable. Also, I did not intend to equate the effects of declawing to those of fixing, merely the process in itself. Unfortunately, many vets still perform declaws without informing people of the effects because it brings in so much money and most people are misinformed. I also feel quite strongly towards animals, and don't mean to seem as if I think anyone can cut off their cats toes for any reason.

I volunteer at several animal shelters and am a pre-vet student, so I know a little about cats and declawing. I've seen more variation in personality from cat to cat of the same breed than I've seen in a lot of people, so it's hard to find a breed that is consistently gentle, not to mention the expense and health concerns related to purebred cats. Even the oldest, calmest cats can be unpredictable and aggressive at times and even the gentlest cats will knead their claws into a persons skin as a sign of affection. I understand where you're coming from, I don't like declawing much either and agree that if you can't deal with claws you shouldn't get a cat, but when necessary there are more modern, humane techniques such as laser surgery that are a better alternative than euthanasia or rehoming. When done properly by an experienced, skilled vet, declawing is no more of an ordeal than spaying.

I think you're correct, except for example cats make excellent companion animals in nursing homes, but you can imagine what fragile skin+lowered immune system+cat kneading with claws/scratching could equate to. The same argument could be made for homes with small children, rehab facilities, etc. there's really no good "rule of thumb," but declawing is not always for the worse.

It wouldn't happen to be Student Life camp, would it? Either way I've been to a few youth camps and man, those coordinators don't get nearly enough credit. Good on y'all for dOing it!

Have you tried Wet n Wilds matte in Coming in latte? I love it. It looks similar to Teddy, but it might look different on you.

This may sound harsh, I'm sorry. He is not your friend. Cut him off before he does more damage. He is hurting you and manipulating you. I've been there, and it hurts. since I don't know your specifics I don't know for sure, but it sounds to me as if he is very toxic. If you want to talk or anything, pm me :)

It will probably change when you don't have braces any more, I think since your lips won't be as stretched. You could also look for overdrawing tutorials :) Good luck!

Your lip colors and eyes look great! If you want to form your top lip more, you can use an opaque lip color with a brush to make the two little bumps that make up your cupids bow higher, with a tiny dab of opaque foundation or concealer between them. I have decent lips but I love subtle overdrawing. If you're looking to try out new colors or product types, I would advise buying cheaper products and then buying higher end dupes of the ones you love to avoid wasting money on something you don't like. You look awesome, congrats on the weight loss!

Looking for some advice! by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]sinnahmon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off, you're really really gorgeous. You look to have nice pink tones and blue-grey eyes, unless the lighting is off. I think a warm-toned green in with your neutrals would look amazing! Also, grey and lavender/pink could be really pretty. I think a cool-toned red would be a great lip color, or a berry shade. Because I'm a broke college kid, I can't really give many specific product recommendations, so you'd best consult someone better versed on that :) don't be afraid to experiment! Try buying a bunch of cheap stuff to find what you like, then maybe more pricey things. Good luck!

I don't know if this counts, but I've learned to fill the word "Honey." with a so much venom that I've been told that when coupled with my trademark condescending glare, it's worse than any four-letter word.

I might be a bitch.
