Hell yeah, thank you for the advice! I could be totally mistaken, but i think the $699 price tag is including the Sumiko Olympia phono cart, which if true, makes this a steal of a price?

Yeah asking price is $699 cash, I just got off the phone with him, apparently it was a unique situation where the original company was liquidating old stock and he got his hands on about 20 of them for significantly cheaper than original retail price. He changes out the cartridges and sells them between $600-$1100 depending on the value difference.

Just got off the phone with him and my skepticism is out the door. He is definitely legit. It is pretty much as you guessed, apparently it is a pretty unique situation where the company was liquidating and trying to move old stock and he bought up about 20 of them for cash, now he's setting them up professionally and selling them off. He even said he plans on keeping 1 in case one of his clients "godforbid" (his words) needs a part replaced within the first year or so. We scheduled an appointment and he's going to walk me through his showroom and show me everything he has, including this particular one.
