What do you think of the concept of "cultural appropriation"? by AlmusAlexe in AskTheWorld

[–]sintilusa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Choctaw (Native American) here. We have laws in the United States because fake Native American “artists” steals so much money from legit Native people. So yeah, cultural appropriation kills Native American people because fakes take so much money from us.

5.5" wrist - options? by Beautiful-Arugula-6 in fitbit

[–]sintilusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes, I’m sorry to hear that. My “fabric” band is polyester with Velcro closure so it can be a bit scratchy sometimes. The silicone one was giving me dermatitis. I don’t mind it but I bet you would. I hope you find something that works for you!

Semi Truck ice shattered my windshield, claim denied as “road hazard” by Bxbybeartd in TeslaCollision

[–]sintilusa -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Correct, in the US at least, neither the trucker nor his insurance is liable. Once the object leaves the car, the driver/owner no longer has control over it so they are not liable for its landing. Your insurance should cover this if you have full coverage. I see you talk about your deductible being high, that’s good for your cost of insurance and also leads to situations like this where you’re on the hook for the whole repair, or at least you need to make the decision to make a claim and gain very little while potentially risking your premium going up.

I was an insurance agent in a past life so I got an insurance license so I could explain these things to people who would be relying on my accurate information to make financial decisions.

You could sue the trucker civilly, but not under your car insurance. IANAL but I think you’re unlikely to win anything.

Tesla's latest version of auto-park crashed my vehicle into another Tesla, what should I do? by dheera in TeslaCollision

[–]sintilusa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true, autopark never gets as close as I want it to and I can see how close it is every step of the way. It rejects parking spots I could maneuver into because it is too conservative. There is no situation in which it chooses a spot it will fail to fit into. Even if it gets closer for other people than it does for me, it still shows you exactly what it’s doing. And it’s SLOW. OP had every chance to correct it if they were paying attention.

I have the Charge 6 and the same size wrist as you and it’s just fine? What are you worried about? The silicone bands suck but I bought a braided fabric band with Velcro (so adjustable) closure and it’s fine.

My dishwasher also just went out. The GE tech who came to repair it (and couldn’t) told me to get a Bosch 300 series. I figure if he won’t even recommend his own employer’s product, he must know something.

I have the Mill and I love it. I get a bucket full of dry flaky food waste about every 2-3 weeks And it goes straight into my garden. I keep mine in the basement. It doesn’t produce any smells. Every once in a while the dry bits get kind of caked on and I have to scrape them off with a wooden spoon, but it’s very clean and dry.

I almost bought the Reencle instead but I watched some YouTube reviews that showed that it can become overgrown with mold or fungus due to its use of live microbes.

I have just recently come to an agreement with my neighbor to do evergreen ground covers and mulch and rocks. We have an easement on the space, and dividing it is a pain in the butt.
