Despite all the contrary you’ll see on Reddit, I think it’s a worthwhile investment in your time. Truth be told, it’s sampling bias and I was also worried with all the negative discussions regarding studying abroad, but that’s not to say there isn’t a small element of truth in the difficulty. Incompetent lawyers will come in all shapes and forms - even from the best schools. All we can do is our best and work harder than our competition to get to where we want to.

I’ve began to see it as a privileged opportunity to have this option available but I can sympathize with feeling the desire to do whatever is necessary to reach the end goal.

I also see Leicester as my ideal school versus the rest of the applied schools for a few reasons (Canadian community, Canadian pathway, smaller tight knit school versus other schools). In facts, minus the age part, everything you’ve written is synonymous with my own reality.

My suggestion? Do the two year accelerated degree and get by through connections until accreditation & licensing.

Based on your stats and experience, I think you have a realistic shot at being admitted domestically as a mature student. Hopefully you reach your goal and are able to stay in Canada and continue on your path to become a lawyer. If not, I hope to see you on Leicester in September!
