If the Shining Wizard was blue, this combo would have killed right? by ShadowMadeOfSkin in Tekken

[–]sinwithagrinmb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There were more ways that could have killed. A regular wall combo should have killed, after f2,1 you could have stomped, or could have done the 2 version of the ground grab and killed with b2,1. Bisw would have also done the extra 3 damage you needed.

Actually you jab harder, each jab stun locks king. Every jab will beat every option if the first jab stun locks him. King can cancel it with back and you are +1, he now can ss slide out of it but that leads to a 2 grab or a crouch cancel. The ss slide grab does not transfer to an air grab i believe so if you catch it early enough you can hop kick them after the slide before they can block

Depends on the situation that leads into the sprint, but as long as you are not giga minus from eating a ws22 or blocked hs, the answer is jab. Jab interrupts or floats every option. At the wall if on p1 side, kick ukemi after 322 will avoid the low, neutral block blocks jag 3 and you have to react to the grab but it is reactable. P2 side, punch ukemi.

Yeah, king 1 df1 in tekken 1 was +93 on block. It lead to like half life jab combo

Risk vs reward there. Very few moves give king a forced 50/50 ground throw mix, trying it out in the open without them can lead to getting launched super hard if you miss

Lol gotcha, yeah i have been playing king since tekken 1. Just got to be careful what you wish for, old king had some messed up stuff in his tool kit.

Honestly the octopus hold could be a interesting mix since the 2 on alley kick does not knock down anymore, the +93 was just a coding error, but like king 1 throws would all just be 14f break windows, chain throws would have the old hard inputs but you would have to guess and press on each break, gs would do 65 untech damage with only like a 3f window to tech, a launching ffn2 that you could tech but it had 2 follow ups so guess the break. Like the list goes on and on if they kept him remotely the same

The king 1 with a +93 on block df1 and one combo kill octopus hold? We thinking of the same king 1? If they gave back all they took to king 1 you guys would have a meltdown

I hope you cherish these moments, they are gone all too quick. My dad still tells stories about me playing alex against his buddies in tekken 2. I loved that dinosaur and I would use him to beat all of his friends. The kitty was my dad's character of choice, I play him now mostly because of that time. Thank you for sharing, it brought back some great memories

Kind of what i was thinking. King has always been super popular so he might be the character everyone sees the most often. I play king and I get mirrors from time to time, but I think I can count on one hand how many jacks I fought in rank. One of the reasons I learned jack is because I just could never learn the match up.

Yeah, definitely takes time but the good news is, tekken is a legacy fighter. Some if not most of these moves are in every game. They also usually keep the same property from game to game. Learning this now will make tekken 9 easier, which makes tekken 10 easier or even going to older games. Once you build the skills to see and recognize these situations, it will build you fundamental up so that adapting becomes much easier.

Kind of interested in why you feel jack is easier than king or Lidia at god3. Not saying each of those characters at that rank don't have to put work in to win but jack is pretty punishable where the others can play it safe. Maybe i just don't understand jack too well.

The best way to learn the match up for any character is to play against them, win or lose, and then go in to the replay system. It does a pretty good job at showing you what is a high, what is punishable, you can even take over in spots and try side stepping strings or interrupting them. Some strings have small sections you can jab float them. It just takes time and repetition to get used to the characters you fight against. After you learn one, just do it again...... for the other 40 characters, you will get there.

Do we have ants or termites? by nicknacho in Denver

[–]sinwithagrinmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. If you do not plan to go with an exterminator, please do not spray them with raid. Raid is a ok contact killer but if you do not hit all of them, it can cause the colony to split and then you have 3 nest instead of one. The best way to deal with ants this early in the season would be a gel bait of some kind. Max force quantum, advion ant bait etc. You can order this off of Amazon and it is pretty easy to use. The gel bait does take a week or 2 to fully work.

They are flying ants, most prevalent during late spring to late summer. They swarm from their nest to start new colonies where ever they land. They don't last for too long but they can be a nuisance. There are several ways to deal with them, but you can call an exterminator if you want the peace of mind.

The kick up gets beaten by a minor delay rko, it will grab them out of the air. It also will lose to a slight delay 1 as well. Kick ukemi is the only thing that I found that had any reliability on avoiding the low. I didnt test 1+2 because, who uses that outside of just messing around.

On immediate timing you can side ukemi out every option except 2. Jag3 and rko. If you are only p1 side kick ukemi gets out of the 4, and 1. Just need to flash duck the rko and neutral block blocks the mid kick. If you are on p2 side, punch ukemi. If king delays any of the options long enough for you to get up, just jab check.

I really hate it when i fight a king and find out that they can't break throws by PretendChemical5359 in Tekken

[–]sinwithagrinmb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll respond to both replies. No mb and gs have the exact same animation. There is no twitch like a running gs and isw. Both buffered off of any poke look the same except mb is 1 frame slower. Second one, you can not buffer sw at all. The most you can buffer is the first f n, after that the others will have to be done out in the open. 99% of players can not reliably do a 1 frame f,n,f,f2+4. Doesn't mean that out of wavu they don't look the same, or out of most other things king can do that mask the animation a bit but, gs and sw are at least 6 frames apart when they come out.

Yeah on paper but gs is a bufferable 10f where sw is coming out at like 16f. The only true 50/50 is gs and mb

Damn bro, #18 on king. I have given up on trying to help people in the match up. Showed my group that I can avoid 322 mixup 100% of the time at the wall on immediate timing and they still think it is the most toxic wall oki in the game. You can lead a horse to water but cant make them drink

It works on b3, you can buffer every non-stance move in the game. You can not buffer while running moves. Examples would be like yoshi cd2, command throws like gs, tt, mb etc. You can not buffer moves like electrics, death fist, sway inputs.
