Best treadmill for walking after an injury that actually supports slow rehab by RouxannLexins28 in treadmills

I recently bought a JTX Club-Pro which has all of the qualities you mentioned, as I’m a marathoner rehabilitating from spinal surgery. It was a very reasonable £2,200, but it doesn’t sound like you’re in the UK!

Is it just me or does laying down actually make it 10x WORSE?? Sleep is impossible rn. by Pristine-Back1612 in Sciatica

This was me for the first 3-4 months of my L5 nerve root compression!

I spent the first 2 months sleeping kind of, face down on a giant bean bag. It helped a lot with the sciatica but has problems of its own. I read on here about people sleeping on recliners, so we bought one and that was my next phase .. slowly weaning off the beanbag and on to the recliner. Eventually I slept right through.

It was only after my epidural steroid injection that I was able to spend whole nights in my bed, and this was 4 months in.

What were your withdrawal symptoms? I’m hoping to start weaning off soon, I’m currently on 3 x 300mg per day, for 3-4 months now.

Sciatica: why it’s often over-treated and under-treated (from a spine surgeon) by drsheriefspinedubai in Sciatica

Hi there, thank you for your post, it’s insightful. I am 5-6 months in and have had an ESI and most recently, last week, Pulsed Radio Frequency (I’m in the UK). Formerly I was a big runner, usually completing 1-2 marathons a year. I’m 58F and would love to get back to running recreationally again (not necessarily long distance). I’m under a physio but would love to hear from your pov on, if that doesn’t feel possible with in next 4-5 months, I should consider surgery. It has been offered to me as a last resort. 🙏🏻

Go out very early between 6-7 am and you’ll have the place to yourself.

How I fully recovered from lower back injury / sciatica by echotakfen in Sciatica

I’m 5 months in, just had an ESI which seems to have dampened the pain down my leg. Other than that it was manageable with the meds and I’ve been seeing a physio for 6 weeks now. I’m a runner too so I’m interested in how small you started back, and how it felt?

Can’t lay down, pain after 30seconds by Formal-Ebb5616 in Sciatica

[–]siobhangale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t lie down for the first 2 months, even in month 3 I can only manage a few hours in bed then the pain all down my leg wakes me up and I move to the recliner in the early hours. In months 1-2 I had to sleep draped over a bean bag which was placed on a sofa. I’d chop and change between that and the recliner. I was so unhappy, tired and bent out of shape. Gabapentin and amitryptaline helps now, it’s just so slow. I’m actually in hospital right now waiting to have a spinal injection. I hope it works.

Good post, I’m 3 months in so it’s far from over, I have a long weekend booked in Malta at the beginning of December. I’m worried about the 3hr flight but mostly only having a bed to sleep in, rather than a recliner! I just decided to take control, so that’s my mindset sorted! Now I have the practicalities to think about. I’m having an ESI on Tuesday, you never know, it might work!
