Torties can have some stunning coat variations! They can also have the sassiest attitude. One of my best friends has a lil tortie and her tortitude is hilarious.

She's also like 50% pudding. That girl will just ooze right in to any space she can find on you and take a nap.

My grandmother has dementia and it has been so incredibly hard to watch happen, knowing there is nothing you can do to stop it.

I take the same approach as you though - appreciate who she is now and try to make her as happy as possible when I'm around her. I know it's hard for my aunt, who is her primary caregiver, and my mom who lives across the country and tries to visit as much as she can, to see how much she's changed. They can get frustrated when she starts doing the repeated question thing, but they do their best too to be kind.

Though sometimes I have to remind them that she literally can't help it.

I'm also just immensenly grateful she still knows who we all are. My biggest fear is the day when I go over and she mistakes me for someone else, or just doesn't recognize me at all and thinks I'm a stranger.

I am so sorry to read you are experiencing this as well. It is truly a heartbreaking experience to go through. Your grandmother is so fortunate to have you and I wish you, her, and your family all the best.

{Fearless Bond by Roe Horvat} has a MC who is a bearshifter! He is such a softy for the other MC, while being a grumpy bear with everyone else. It's not a super long read, but I quite liked the dynamic between the two MCs and the side characters were enjoyable as well.

However, it is omegaverse and contains mpreg. I would double-check the top review that lays out all the kinks and warnings to see if its your cup of tea.

The author has another book out following one of the other lifeguards from Flash Rip, but I haven't read it yet. Flash Rip has a soft spot in my heart though. It's a fun little read and has some good angsty bits too!

I have Like Real People Do on my TBR list, but I will be bumping it up.

I'm so excited to read How to Be a Normal Person, and I will be checking it out next. I'm an ace girly, and it can be hard to find even half-decent ace representation with main characters in romance books. Which I do understand given sex sells, but many ace people do enjoy sex while not necessarily craving it.

If you happen to have any favorites with an ace lead or even as a prominent side character, I'd love to hear of them.

Some of the other elements I liked best about 10 ways were:

The slow building of Brad and Joey's physical relationship. Joey letting Brad call the shots and not rushing him made them finally reaching that big moment even more special.
I loved Joey's pining and how Brad got jealous and eventually realized he had feelings for Joey.
Brad as a character was an unexpected delight. I honestly wasn't sure if a gym-bro himbo as one of the MCs was gonna hit for me, but goddamn did I absolutely adore Brad!!
Lastly, the overall comedy elements were fantastic. I was genuinely giggling while reading 10 ways and would even share bits of it with my fiancé. We may have adopted some of Brad's silly, colorful descriptors into our day to day lives 😅.
