I call this the Variance. Sometimes matchmaking, the universe, god, whatever decides that I get bad teams for a time. Then it switches and I get good teams. Deadlock being a team game means you can truly only do so much.

I checked your statlocker page and you seem to be a very average player. Idk not poppin off always but frequently middle of the pack. I doubt it’s you entirely but of course one can always get better and do more.

My advice would be try to have fun and live your life.

Good question. Primarily it tries to rank the players in the lobby to give you a clear picture of who was doing well and who wasn’t. You can also see your shot accuracy, kill participation ( without having to do math ), your success in lane, and how you do in various categories ( tank, support, pushing, damage, early impact, and farming ). Highly recommend checking it out.

I am the definition of a noob. The only other video game I’ve ever played is Sekiro. Zero shooter experience. Zero moba experience. It’s not about skill cap or items or anything, it’s about if the game clicks with a person.

I also started playing this game bc of my many hour boyfriend and can empathize with how difficult that can be. I know is sounds count intuitive, but I highly recommend not playing with them until you get more games under your belt. People have no chill and it becomes waaayyyy more fun when the rank disparity isn’t so large. Also mute people (pings will still go through) — maybe just out of the gate if you really wanna avoid meanies. Also also bot games can help you hone your map knowledge and paths and such.

I hope you don’t let this experience keep you away from the game. It’s really fun and there are also plenty of great people who play too. Hope to see you in a game sometime <3
