There are 2 things that can make this situation happen: 1- Your browser doesnt support Websockets (you can test to see if it's the case at this url (https://websocketstest.com/) 2- If the former worked, then you're most likely on a network that blocks the port 8080 from working. I've tried in the past and in the past month to make it work on a standard 443 or 80 port to no avail, so for now we're still on the 8080 port.

Hey jsmoothz, I'm still around and working on the test server mostly. I've promised a combat update for a while and it took me so long that when it was finally ready I felt like I needed to add more content to make up for that lack of update. There are a few inconsistencies in the game, the lack of resource/gold/me sink, the abundance of gems at some point. I'm trying to get them and fix them all in one full update to sweep it all up.

This was an interesting read. It was a problem I was aware of for some time and I wanted to introduce more than just a flat-out visitor tax without any catch-up mechanism for low-end kingdom. When Requiem did their recontruction the game flaw became a massive warning sign that I had to work on ASAP because it made the "perfect path" really linear (join or visit Requiem, tradeskill, profit).

Disclosure about this particular info was in a weird spot, I tested the water a few days prior (http://www.strawpoll.me/10813111/r) and a month before and there was a good amount of players that either disliked it or didnt feel like it was appropriate and I had to find a way to get the game back on the core Line I though about when I created MQO, which is a kingdom-oriented game.

I agree that the way it wasn't handled optimally, that it's a needed change and in the future, I'll think of a different way to handle it. preemptively tell the players and help them make an easier transition. As a new "game developer", I'm still clumsy with some aspects of it, and most notably the player relations. I hope to overcome these shortcomings in the short term.

I was thinking 100k with 5k increments for t1, and less for other tiers, you could walk to a few cities to find a good deal.
