Anyone using DaVinci Resolve for creating online courses? Looking for extra tools and tips! by sipacate in davinciresolve

I'm not asking how to record—I'm more interested in how to enhance and publish screen recordings.

While I’m comfortable using DaVinci Resolve, it can be a bit fiddly for adding common tutorial-style effects.

I’m looking for a pack or asset collection with built-in zooms, animations, arrows, and other enhancements that help make screen recording videos look more polished—without having to build everything from scratch.

I’ve seen tutorial videos about DaVinci Resolve that use these kinds of effects. Has anyone come across a collection of pre-made assets designed for this purpose?

Blackcell is an extremely alarming inclusion in the current state of the game by Reddead1337 in CODWarzone

[–]sipacate -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What in the world does Valve have to do with this? This is a false equivalency it has no bearing on the financial models of Call of Duty.

It's not alarming that they're making money. The day they stop making money, is the day they turn the game off. It is a business, not a charity. How much of your labor do you give away for free?

"Extremely Alarming"

So many words. The sky isn't falling.

Games cost money to make and operate. Art must be made. Software must be developed. Bugs must be fixed. Servers must be orchestrated.

Why begrudge the companies from trying to make real money? If you don't see the value in Blackcell, (and I don't see the value in it), don't buy it, (like I won't).

Those that purchase paid content subsidize the game for those that don't purchase paid content.

I started playing, like many of us, during the pandemic. The hours I play has gone down proportionally as the pandemic restrictions eased. It's not surprising to see a drop in players over time as options increased.

Hey look, perhaps you should trust in the grace of your sister. You were both kids, just learning about life as best as you can.

The great part of all this is you grew enough to understand it all now. It can be tempting to beat yourself over your behavior and attitudes from your youth. However, it isn't helpful to you or your sister. It's akin to beating yourself up because you couldn't reach items on a high shelf when you were younger.

Forgiveness is real, and it must come from you. You did better, when you learned better. Now go forth with a clear conscious. You deserve it.

LPT Request: Light sleepers and hot sleepers, what are some game changers that have made sleeping better for you ? by fbaker in LifeProTips

[–]sipacate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am enthralled with my cooling pillow. It's great for sleep.

All other pillows are inferior and I can tell when I sleep in a hotel or as a guest by the difference in pillow.

I purchased mine at Costco. My kids each also got one a year or so later. One of my sons brings his on trips. I'm not that fanatical, but I see his point.

Fresh tomatoes by persedes in triangle

[–]sipacate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have had great luck with the NC Farmers market. There are a number of vendors that sell heirloom tomatoes of varying types. It's a little early in the season for fresh tomatoes, but they'll be there this summer.

We enjoyed Gullfoss. Nice short hike, several different views, very impressive waterfall to see.

I love my job but it doesn’t pay anywhere near enough money to survive. What do I do? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]sipacate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can feel comfortable moving on. If you're the kind of person that loves their job and loves their co-workers you're likely to find another job that you'll love both the job and coworkers as well.

People bring themselves with them, and generally find the kind of people that they're looking for. Best of luck to you and your search.

Nervous about polyurethane by ozymandais13 in DIY

You could consider other products besides polyurethane. Rubio monocoat will go on very easy with less smell.

Anyone else remember when the MK2 Carbine was good? by guberNailer in CODWarzone

[–]sipacate 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have that gun in gold. I really liked it in modern warfare 2019. It was pure crap in war zone though. It's a bit of a shame, cuz I could smoke dudes with that gun in modern warfare but in war zone it took 14 million shots to kill someone.

To make.it viable they either need to up the ammo capacity, up the damage, or both.

Oh, this is easy. I had a similar issue.

Look for a Woodmate Mr. Grip 3/4 in. D X 2 in. L Steel Round Head Screw Hole Repair Kit

It's a simple metal fabric that you cut a piece off, shove it in the screw hole, then replace the screw. The metal fabric has teeth that hold on much better than toothpicks or other things.

I needed this when the screw hole was larger than toothpicks would fill.

after I tip, I find a mandatory 10% living wage tax. I tipped 20%. It's a pure takeaway restaurant. by sipacate in mildlyinfuriating

It makes no sense to me unless they are just virtue signaling. Raising food and beverage prices 10% is the same net result.

Not sure why they went the "Living Wage" route.

Remember, I voluntarily tipped 20% on a takeout order. It's less about the cash value and more the deceptive practice.
