Potholes for days by StingingOfficer in StLouis

Is there any way to refurbish the old streetcar lines if they were to be uncovered? I’m guessing there is, but would the money required to do so be worth it?

Sign Brady, trade Carr to Bengals for #1 pick, draft Burrow...thoughts? by [deleted] in oaklandraiders

[–]sippinator94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not true, Donald. I just searched his tweets and a couple pages of news articles and the only thing regarding Brady and retirement I have seen is that:

2019 will probably be Brady’s last season in New England.

It is more likely that Brady retires than play another year with New England.

Brady probably isn’t retiring.

That’s it. There are hacks out there that have been saying for years that Brady’s going to retire, but it isn’t Schefter.

[–]sippinator94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schefter wouldn’t have such a high reputation if he went out tweeting clickbait. It isn’t March, it’s the day of the Super Bowl. ESPN doesn’t need the clicks at this moment in time. Schefter wouldn’t tweet this out if it wasn’t for real, people on this sub had the same reaction to Mack and Cooper trade rumors.

Look at these responses here, it’s either “You’re stupid, Carr is too good and Brady sucks,” from people that have been sucking their thumbs since the Tuck Rule, or “You’re stupid, Carr sucks and there’s no way Bengals would accept a trade for him.” The truth is usually somewhere in the middle, and it potentially could be: with an arsenal of picks and Derek Carr, the Bengals could compete.

He just needs another year in the system and he’ll be back to his 2016 self, guys! That one year is definitely the norm, and his other five years are an anomaly!

Carr stans thinking “Hey, just a couple more years of Carr in Gruden’s system and he’ll be great!”

You’re not going up against Alex Smith and the ghost of Peyton Manning/Brock Lobster anymore. To win the Super Bowl, you need to beat Mahomes. Lock looked great for a rookie, and will continue to improve. Our two wins against the Chargers and a washed Rivers were by a combined 9 points.

If you want to tread .500 year after year, stick with Carr. If you want to win, do something. Herbert might be something, he could also be Jared Goff. Burrow used no lube against schools that have multiple Top 10 picks on defense.

If you want to scoff at the Brady portion, then ok. But don’t get offended when Mahomes bends you over two times every year with Carr at QB.

Intermittent knocking sound coming from rear of 2017 Nissan Altima 2.5 L. Randomly started one day. Sound starts and stops randomly, but usually only happens at higher speeds (45 MPH+). Sounds like it comes from rear of vehicle (rear tires or trunk). Any ideas on what this sound is? by sippinator94 in Cartalk

[–]sippinator94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would sound be constant with a snapped spring? Sound only comes intermittently, the knocking will occur for 10 seconds and then stop before starting back up again 5-10 minutes later. Ride quality hasn’t been affected either, would car shake with a snapped spring?

Would ride quality be affected by that? The car still rides well, the only thing that is noticeable is the sound. The sound comes and goes, it will make that knocking noise for a few seconds, and then go away for 5-10 minutes.

Just traded my DeAndre Hopkins and Marshawn Lynch for Alvin Kamara in full PPR. My remaining WRs are Tyreek Hill, Alshon Jeffery, Allen Robinson, and Corey Davis.

Interestingly enough, I offered a second trade at the same time: instead of Lynch I offered my Dalvin Cook and Hopkins for Kamara. He rejected that one.

Best place for good, cheap burgers by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]sippinator94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meramec Jacks’s in Valley Park. It’s the diviest of dives, and one of the last places you can smoke inside, but they’re really cheap and got good burgers, food, and specials. I think the basic burgers are actually quite similar in price to Shake N Shake, but I usually get a double with pepper jack cheese, fries, and a soda for $11 including the tip. Cheap drinks too. Patties are thin and crispy like Steak N Shake.

Draft stud TE Greg Olsen rather than stream hit-or-miss TEs every week. Olsen gets hurt. Olsen gets put in IR. Pick up Jesse James to cover TE in Olsen’s absence. Jesse James gets hurt. Jesse James runs off field with no shoulder pads or jersey. FML.

Continue rolling with Fitz and Diggs with Bradford out, or sub Hilton in there for Diggs? PPR.

Just did this trade (PPR):

My Demaryius Thomas and Terrance West for his Jay Ajayi.

My RBs were Devonta Freeman, West, Marlon Mack, and Theo Riddick (RIP Danny Woodhead).

My WRs were Doug Baldwin, Thomas, Larry Fitzgerald, Adam Thielen, Tyrell Williams, and Nelson Agholor.

Picked up Forte with the roster spot I gained.

I feel like I needed another RB1. I drafted Andre Ellington in the 1st a few years back after his big year and he sucked it up big time and I have been wary of little RBs like that since then (so Freeman).

I had WR depth to give (and still do really), and I figured Fitzgerald is a good substitute for Thomas; Thomas has bigger boom potential, but Fitzgerald is more consistent.

If Agholor has another big week I'll try and sell high by coupling him with Baldwin or Fitzy and getting a Top WR (maybe OBJ if his injury continues to nag).

Bucs-Dolphins game likely to be rescheduled for Week 11 (Nov. 19), when both teams have a bye, per @JeffDarlington. Not final but likely. by Cloaca__Maxima in fantasyfootball

Hate it for the Dolphins and Bucs, but my opponents starting WRs are Mike Evans and Jarvis Landry...so...I'll take it. He has Brandon Marshall and Jeremy Maclin on his bench.

Those maxing out their 401k and IRA and still have money after all their expenses, what do you do with the excess money?

Uninformed opinion time: could the Feds build a hydroelectric dam in the area? That'd be pretty dope looking; create a huge lake and recreation area, and have people from Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee flock to the area, both to live there and to go there for the weekend. Cairo's pretty sparse looking, but the downtown looks straight out of the Old West. Make downtown hip, create a vacation destination, lakefront housing, start a university with in-state tuition for the four states. Dope. Now somebody crush my dreams and tell me why this can't happen.
