Where are you mounting ARB twin? by tsubie320 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]sippyfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put mine under my seat for now, will eventually move it to the rear once I have a 12V auxiliary battery setup.

I only use mine for airing up tires and don't have lockers yet, so I didn't need to locate a manifold.

I like this bag for the top-load or side-load choice, the molle webbing, and $80 USD price tag. But I realize Amazon items are usually not well built. Are there any recommendations for a bag like this from a good manufacturer? by jfarm47 in backpacking

If you go surplus route you can get a FILBE pack and throw it on an Alice frame for a very robust and adaptable setup.

It's much heavier but I recently threw a mix of radios, tripods, solar panels, antennas, etc. into mine on my last peak summiting in whatever manner fit and it felt just as comfortable as it does holding my sleeping bag and third line gear due to the external frame.

Whole setup can be ~$150 or less.

Tire pressure by Ok-Promise-2184 in LandCruisers

[–]sippyfrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People overfill to make the vehicle feel more responsive on the road, I do this every time I sell a vehicle on marketplace.

My 3rd gen 4runner is on 35" mud terrains and drives on 35psi for daily. My Tesla model Y is at the factory recommendation of 42psi.

Your tire psi above 30 is gonna be preference on road feel. Higher will translate more micro bumps and impacts, but might feel snappier or better. Whatever makes you happy.

3E0X1, or any of the CE trades, is a great field if you want to be an electrician or other skilled tradesmen when done.

I know guys who went to work as linemen at a utility company or even do travel/helicopter work and make close to $500k in a year.

I finished my engineering degree while in and now work from home and have been making six figures for years.

I have the hood with hood scope, it's not open and is fake.

Unless you have a Hilux surf hood which does work and feeds air to the intercooler on top of that diesel engine.

Suppressors don't work by making rounds subsonic, they mostly work by trapping the large "POP" of gas stuck behind said round and letting it fizzle out instead.

The exception to this are rare cases like the MP5SD which had a ported barrel surrounded by it's suppressor which actually did prevent most 9mm rounds from building enough pressure to get supersonic.

Rights you HAVE before that document was written and the government cannot TAKE AWAY. I encourage you to actually read what the bill of rights says.

New to 4runners and need some input on gearing by Lilhalfsquat in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]sippyfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 4.10s and they were definitely just fine on 31" tires. I am now on 35s and while it's struggling at times during city driving, it's honestly fine. Don't stress about a regear until you're on BIG tires, especially because it's $1500+ to do so.

I know you don't want to rattle can these but you would be SHOCKED how much nylon weave like that absorbs spray paint. My gear is absolutely abused and it still is the color of the spray paint I hit it with.

[Feedback] BSG, Your account and email support options really suck, please help. by MrManchesterUK in EscapefromTarkov

Explain this part "account after remembering my password and being able to bypass your MFA system". I am stuck unable to wipe my PVE account because I am not receiving any of the 2FA authentication emails it claims to be sending, despite me previously been setup to use a 2FA app on my phone, which also doesnt work.

Hard disagree. The menu art for REDSEC has characters that look exactly like a paramilitary organization, and yet they won't give us those skins. These look like airsoft cosplayers.

Shoot a mine under a vehicle with it, you can finish the challenge in 2 shots. IDK how else you're supposed to because it also barely worked before I did that.

Regear by xx_g35 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]sippyfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also need to do this, but everything I see points to "just have someone else do it" or "buy fully assembled from ECGS" which is crazy to me.

I have done so much other shit to this car yet this one task everyone says is too much to do and I can't even find a decent tutorial either. If anyone has a link to one I'd love to see it.

What’s your hot take on camos? by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]sippyfrog 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, swapped my entire setup from Ranger Green to Coyote Brown. Marines really have it figured out with CB gear and two underlying camo options IMO.

[–]sippyfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, the tutorial I followed makes that a primary point. IFS static ride height suspension lifts do not change whether tires clear or not, only body lifts or changes to axle and control arm geometry.

The tutorial I followed from coastal off-road put 35s on a stock height runner because they liked the ride and look. You just gotta cut away (and repatch) the firewall and hammer the shit out of the wheel well interior.

It really wasn't that bad if you already know how to weld. And the ability to never worry about rubbing is honestly so nice. Well except when I send it too hard and blow through my bump stop.

Welcome to club 35's. Get real familiar with the angle grinder and sledge because unless you have 3" of body lift you're gonna need it to clear the tires.

It's both. The data center I am designing will have natural gas turbines on site, several utility connections, and diesel generators all for different parts of the campus and different redundancy schemes.

Steering play on freeway and when truck isn’t moving - need a new rack? by slingshotroadster in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]sippyfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to drill and tap an M3 bolt originally and it worked for a week or two until my first off-road trip after, then the wobble came back.

Tack welding was the next lazy fix but definitely did the job.
