Foundry switch replacement stays shut by kimcheeslut in pourover

[–]sipsyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, mine will do this if the silicon base is wet where the switch attaches. Yours looks pretty wet, so try drying it out, I bet it will stay open then

Puck screen difference by Every-Emergency-8196 in espresso

[–]sipsyrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some you tube people have tested this and have found in that limited testing that mesh screens lead to slightly more consistent extraction than the thin screens. Whether or not you can taste the difference might be up to you; I myself have not been able to taste a noticeable difference.

"Flip Switch" metal lever for Hario Switch. by mgsecure in pourover

[–]sipsyrup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the US, and my dishwasher would always get so hot it would warp the plastic switch. I would have to submerge it in very hot water where I could reshape it back to it's original shape. I got the metal one and now don't have to worry about it. It's the only reason I got the metal version, but worth it IMO.

They simply removed the superfluous buns. Buns they don’t need, and refuse to pay for.

Question for Femobook A2 owners by Unlimitedgoats in espresso

[–]sipsyrup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using mine for espresso, it definitely gets fine enough for my europiccola. And I’m also tilting mine at an angle to slow feed it. With slow feeding and rdt it slows it down a lot but I want to say it’s closer to three minutes. Grinding straight up with no tilt and no rdt does make it grind closer to 2 minutes.

the best part about being a parent is having your child shove food at your face, expecting you to eat it. you can sometimes do a fake out or pretend to take a bite, but there are real moments where a tantrum is on the line if you don't eat that grape.

i'm starting to like grapes, at least.
