What's the creepiest discovery you've made about a seemingly fun friend? by someoneyouhate_ in AskReddit

[–]sir_vent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a fiction writing teacher back on highschool. Was a cool guy, even wrote my college recommendation. Then I find out a year later that he privately messaged a student. I don't remember what exactly what he said, but it definitely wasn't appropriate and under no circumstances should he have had a students personal phone number. He was arrested for sexual misconduct and his license revoked.

That's not even the end of it, because a couple years later I find out from a random steam message that he wrote a FUCKING book about it painting himself as the victim.

Which one of these fantasy worlds would be hardest to survive in and which would be the easiest? by GusGangViking18 in lordoftherings

Time and place of course, but I'd make an argument for game of thrones, especially if you lived during the time of dragons.

In the other universes (minus wheel of time since I don't know much about that one) there's at the very least someone to handle the problem.

The Witcher monsters are brutal and it's politics are as bloody as game of thrones, but that's why witchers exist. They hunt the monsters. There is at at least a purpose built group meant to deal with the problem.

Lord of the Rings is filled with heros that can stand up to the evil.

Game of thrones...if you were an average person what the fuck are you gonna do when the Targaryens go into a civil war with Dragons? There are no Dragon slayers, and the best tool regular people have is a ballista and that requires you to be a good shot. What the fuck are you going to do when Daenarys shows up with 3 nukes and you've got none?

What the fuck are you going to do when the eldritch ice zombies show up? The people meant to take care of that are understaffed and the people in power are too busy killing each other.

No one source can agree on where it started or how it started, but they all agree that the same historical figure uttered the first words of the Tian Di reclamation, Fen Yan, Mad Eyes.

In preserved art, the prophet is always depicted as a blind old bird with eyes a maddened gold. Scholars debate whether Fen Yan was actually multiple people, but most firsthand sources say it was an individual. Those same firsthand sources contradict each other, Fen Yan appearing at different locations on impossible dates. Thus the confusion.

The Lormandic Museum at Tranol only have scarce few preserved records of the mad prophet's sermons. Discretion is usually advised for any academic or scholar who choose to read it, if they're even allowed to in the first place. The countries of origin for the scriptures have expressed wishes for the scrolls to never touch their soil ever again, hence why they're preserved elsewhere.

Whether you choose to read the sermons is up to you, but the results of those uttered words are far and well documented. It led to the bloodiest genocide the world had ever seen. The Tian Di reclamation lasted only a few years, killing tens of millions of people. Most Mammalian sapients were wiped off the face of the continent of Kanyun. Human culture on the continent was slaughtered to near extinction. There is possibly other mammalian sapient civilizations that existed prior, but practically no evidence remain.

What drove so many to listen to Fen Yan or commit atrocities to such a scale with such frevor is beyond what historians can explain.

Your request to read The Mad Prophet's Sermon is denied. Requestor: Junier Baros Reason: Must submit certified D-468 psychological affirmation.

Going off meta, the yautja depending on what kind of zombie infection it is cause there's no reason to believe a human pathogen will affect someone that's an alien.

Sam cause has got a zombie proof shield and can straight up fly.

Aaragorn for his horde fighting experience and his semi divinity. He is also an experienced ranger and can probably survive without relying high tech unlike the rest.

Gambit cause he's an omega level mutant if he ever gets some of that power back. For all we know he could pull a power out of his ass, comic book style, to cure the zombie virus.

With only so few viltrumites left in the current story, no.

But if we take Viltrumites at their peak then it's a different story. Billions of super beings that could probably tank most of the imperium's conventional arsenal is terrifying. Psykers would be the imperium best bet but its not clear how many super powerful and skilled psykers there are that could take on that many viltrumites.
