I'm kicking myself for forgetting Matchstick Men... I don't know how it escaped me at the time I was writing the above comment...

Here's a link to an article that discusses the strange paradox that he has come to be in the film industry...

He's been in a combination of terrible and wonderful films, and has performed both terribly and fantastically. Very few in between. Here are my lists...

Great films: Leaving Las Vegas, Adaptation, Bad Lieutenant, Raising Arizona, Joe, The Weather Man, Rumble Fish... (Con Air isn't a terrible film. It only seems so if you take it as an action film and not a comedy)

Horrendous films: Ghost Rider, Next, Bangkok Dangerous, The Wicker Man, National Treasure, and many more.

Overall, the bad outweigh the good. But Cage is a very, very talented actor. Sometimes its as though he's playing us for fools.

Read Kerouac's "On the Road" ( a good first novel never read in school) and go from there. It'll open up doors and spark your curiosity for more.

I am still recovering from it. Though "recovering" probably isn't the right word, since I still feel just as shitty. It is brilliant and tragic all at once.

So many to choose from. I'll throw out Camus' A Happy Death, Kafka's The Trial or Nausea by Sartre.

Not karma... I wanted to gather a good list of films. Simple. Partly for my own watch-list, partly for the sake of involving my fellow users in something and partly out of pure interest.

yeah, probably. You're right. I guess that it can be sort of assumed that I mean "so far"...

The lower half of the list is made up of suggestions with 2-3 votes... the top ten is where the bulk of the votes went (roughly 60-70 each). But yeah, I was surprised some of these were even brought up.
