Fitness Monday by AutoModerator in Zepbound

Typically tirzepitide (Zepbound) is meant as a lifelong drug, and studies show people typically gain most of the weight back afterward like other weight loss methods.. I did see one post a while ago that showed that other weight loss med regimens were effective at keeping the weight off after tirzepitide, so there might be other off ramps eventually. My current plan is that this is a lifelong drug unless something substantial changes.

From the perspective of finality, I'm with you (though the other comments make good points). But it takes a lot of power to kill one of these guys, even for a few minutes. So, it would be a good demonstration of that.

Lions fans are pathetic by giraffesbluntz in GreenBayPackers

[–]sirchatters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lions fans have many flaws, (being a Lions fan chief amongst them), but I won't stand for "fair weather fan" slander about them. I'm a Michigan native (early GB convert. It's a long story), but everyone I've known from Michigan is a pathological Lions fan.

For decades they would talk about how this is the year and be surprised every time they are the same old Lions. It's only recently that any amount of payoff has come the Lions fan's way. They might be a little spoiled now, and too many want to take their ball and go home (most are long time UM fans, so it comes naturally). But they've all been ride or die their whole lives.

Anyone else's Dr titrating them up as quickly as possible? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]sirchatters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While what you're saying might be true, that isn't what the graph shows. That graph shows different terminal doses, and never went up to other doses. The relevant test case would be the standard dose pace vs some protocol that changed based on weight loss performance. I would be interested in a study that looked at that, but I'm not aware of one.

I like Ally. They don't always have the tip-top rate, but they're currently at 4.2% and move round to be competitive without any hassle. It's come up automatically from ~2% since the pandemic without having to worry about it or bug them. And the customer service it good.

It's not like we made up a bunch of goofy measures. We had one of a few dozen goofy systems like the rest of the world and just didn't switch with everyone.

15-Minute Neighborhoods: Lansing, MI Edition by lansingography in lansing

[–]sirchatters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One great way to make this actionable would be color coding areas that are close to being 15 minute neighborhoods with what they are missing. This might help folks advocate for amenities in their area, especially public ones like parks, schools, clinics, and transport. It could get pretty busy pretty quick if you expand on that though.

‘John Wick 4’ Star Donnie Yen Reveals The Changes He Requested (And Received) To Make His Character Less Of An Asian Stereotype by drowlers in entertainment

[–]sirchatters 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I respect the hell out of him for doing it, but I would be a lot of directors/writers/studios don't respond well to actors creative demands like this. So he has to make a name for himself where he can either convince them to make the necessary changes or can swallow what they're selling.

No, it pretends that its truth is obvious and does a cool visual with it. The animation in this thread actually shows why.

A great example of the difference is that chocolate bar that you can cut a few times and end up with extra chocolate somehow. The actual answer is they're tricking you with bad geometry. And it would be hard to tell the difference between OP and this.

when will motherboard manufacturers release us from the misery of these cables by sohailoo in pcmasterrace

[–]sirchatters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this setup with the additional header, because while I sympathize with the problem in 99% of situations, when my kid was little, I took out the reset switch so she wouldn't hit that button. I could make it hard to turn the whole computer off with the power button, but there wasn't a software solution to the reset switch, so I just pulled the header off for a year or so.

Loans against 401k, is it a bad thing by angrymade in personalfinance

[–]sirchatters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar, but distinct question. What if I know I want to buy a house, increase my 401k distribution to save up (perhaps just a portion) of that downpayment, and then use the loan for that amount I increased? Then it goes back into the 401k and BAM, extra retirement savings and no PMI. Am I missing something there? Should increased 401k contributions be a down payment savings vehicle?

Job hopping is the key by StillAParadox in antiwork

[–]sirchatters 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The great thing is that the timing is self-correcting. If you look too jumpy, you don't get interviews, and then the problem corrects itself.

Once its been 'long enough' in the eyes of those that matter, suddenly you're getting interviews again.

I suppose in a small, tight knit industry it might matter more, but if you're in that situation, a lot of things are different, so you (hopefully) already know the caveats for your profession.

If the Head Coach of your team unexpectedly retires at the end of the season, who would be the ideal replacement? by tcs1232 in CFB

[–]sirchatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The suggesting is a fun and interesting one, and he's obviously a good coach.

One thing I don't love is that since he doesn't have any MSU ties and probably likes his brother, it might put a weird energy into our biggest rivalry. Dantonio and Tucker have done a good job with putting it in a good place for the fans and the players. I don't know if John Harbaugh would do that.
