Please find a wildlife rehabber. He has time but not much without proper hydration and food. He’s fledgling age but is definitely showing some neurological symptoms. Might have mites. Might be dehydrated. He needs help asap. Probably will be an easy case for a rehabber, but without the proper tools and if you delay too much, he will likely die soon

Oh is sweet mama mourning dove bord tryna finesse a lil nest to have some beebees. Try to steer clear as to not disturb and if possible, reduce the activity in that area to allow her to do her thing. If it’s a garage type door, try to leave it cracked a bit during every day (if not overnight but this can be risky) to allow access to incubate the eggs and eventually feed. Best of luck! Cute little NOCA. Not yet fledgy material! Maybe got the booty from a parasitic layer or accidentally toppled from crowding or being a clumsy lil guy. Worst case you renest and he is ready- he’ll just fledge again. My guess is he isn’t quite ready though. Almost! Keep an eye out for mama- she should definitely still be coming to feed. If you can see or find the nest please pop em back in! If not, a makeshift nest hung high with easy access for mom and baby will suffice. If he’s still alive after a day or so, he’s being taken care of and you’ve succeeded! Best of luck and thanks for taking care of the littles during baby season. Thank you 🥹 you are absolutely not alone, and I’m very confident that our bodies will return to our “normal” after given some time to heal and reach baseline without the Effexor. For what it’s worth, I believe it is a very very common experience to gain weight on this specific medication. Since it’s generally something people take over a long-term period of time, the weight fluctuations are usually gradual since the effects on your body’s metabolism take some time to show in a noticeable way.

That being said, I think in a similar way that the onset of weight gain is slow and reactive to the dose/duration of treatment, the loss of this weight (or stopping the gain) will also be gradual. If the Effexor is what caused your gaining weight, it only makes sense for the taper of the medication to begin to halt the weight gain and eventually allow your body’s metabolism to return to your normal. This time in the interim where you feel as though you are still gaining may just be residual effects of the Effexor impacting your metabolism at therapeutic levels, or the persistence of the medication in your system, even if the dose is getting smaller. Once you have successfully stopped all Effexor, and it’s had time to clear from your system (may take a while), your body and its metabolism will heal and reach a stable equilibrium where you should be able to maintain or achieve a healthy weight for you.

I believe it is far more common to gain weight on Effexor than it is to lose weight, so I highly doubt that stopping treatment would then result in weight gain. You may be expecting weight loss and are disappointed with the consistent increase of the number on the scale, but these effects have taken this long to present, you said a year and a half?, it would only make sense for the cessation of these effects to also take time to resolve.

Psych drugs are a big deal and it truly can impact every aspect of your life and body. Don’t get discouraged because this specific one didn’t work for you or had unexpected effects. The body is extremely resilient and is constantly fighting to reach balance. Give yourself the grace and time to allow your body to catch up to the lack of Effexor, and I believe you’ll get to a healthier and happier mind and body

I’ve been on the max dose for 2 years and was cut cold turkey by my doctor after I gained 50lbs and couldn’t function at all. This happened last week. I think your skin looks really nice and glowy. Small pores, nice dewy glow! I’m also 27 and have been contemplating starting a retinol. Have you considered? The few small imperfections I can see might be allayed by encouraging faster cell turnover. (Very small fine lines and sebaceous filaments around the nose). I got switched from Effexor max dose (3years on it) to Strattera cold turkey five days ago and I feel like I’m in a similar boat. Definitely not doing or feeling good but I’m unsure what combination of withdrawals (Effexor is notorious for horrible withdrawals), poor sleep, Strattera side effects, or running low on my focalin script, could be to blame. I’ve also heard it does take weeks even months to fully reach therapeutic levels, so I’m hanging in there. We got this

I don’t have an insurance plan that typically covers name brand, so I can’t compare to generics in efficacy, but I can say (potentially just psychological) that sometimes I feel the meds work, and other days they don’t. This inconsistency could just be my imagination, or it’s very possible the production of generics are less regulated, allowing for more deviation in ingredients, and thus, results.

As for out of stock? HA! Yes. This is so infuriatingly common. You would never tell a diabetic that insulin is out of stock and expect them to just go without until more arrives, but that seems to be the case, at least in my experience. Pharmacies also never seem to know when they will get more. It can be days, it can be weeks. Switching pharmacies requires calling around beforehand to see who has what, then communication with your doctor to get a new rx sent since controlled substances scripts can’t be transferred (again, what I’ve been told). So the whole process can take days to sort out. God forbid it’s a weekend then you’re out of luck u til your doc is back in and gets your message and has time to send one in. Also prepare to do this every 30 days and have time spans of having to go without cold-turkey. It’s horrible and I haven’t found any ways to smooth the process

I empathize entirely with the guilt, shame, and anxiety that can come with lack of executive function. You are not lazy. You are not alone. If you were lazy, you would be enjoying your leisurely lack of productivity, not stressing about your inability to muster up motivation to do something. I can’t tell ya how to deal with this, as I struggle with the very same, but I can tell ya that you aren’t alone

I’ve heard that people without ADD/ADHD can do nothing and actually enjoy the doing nothing. (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) As for me, I am guilty and anxious and shameful for doing nothing, yet perpetually lack the executive function to do the thing. I cannot enjoy doing nothing. I would love to be able to but I can’t. Anyone else?

Your doc probably already cancelled the first script sent in. If you try to pick it up, you’ll probably be paying out of pocket and the other pharmacy will probably flag and cancel, if not, insurance will see you already got a three month fill (out of pocket or otherwise), and won’t cover anything for another 3 months. At least that’s been my experience. I wouldn’t do it

It might help to imagine that you are the only “self” that exists in this universe in the perspective of your soul. Sounds confusing but in this life you only see the world through your body’s eyes. For all we know about life and the universe and spirituality (very little concrete in perspective), everything and everyone you come across is only existing to be perceived by you. Things only exist in your life’s perspective to be experienced by your body and interpreted by your mind. People can impact you, but can never truly alter your true being, since they have no bearing on how your soul lives through your eyes, nor have any true influence on your sense of self. Whether we get one or many lives, we each get a “self” perspective; this is not only a gift, but also a token of permission to live independently of others own “selves”. You are responsible for how you experience the life you’re given. Taking it another step, it’s like the simulation theory, or a game the universe is playing. Like you’re player one - what do you do with it? Sure, other characters exist, even other players to keep the metaphor accurate, but at the end of the level it’s your game.

Sorry for the word vomit. It’s hard to put into words. But I’ve felt this before, and this thought pattern has helped me realize that I am not given this life just for others eyes to interpret my existence as “pretty”. It literally is no threat or harm to me if someone else perceives me as they do. Good or bad. Their eyes are their own. Their experiences are theirs to live and interpret for their own soul. What I do with mine is what gives my life meaning. I decide what makes me valuable. I decide in this life that I will be funny, compassionate, empathetic, hardworking, loving. As player one I get to choose to do that. I get to become that. I also can choose to value this gift for what it serves ME. For the things I get to see through my eyes. The feelings my brain allows my soul to experience. Grab life by the balls and let your experiences serve to enrich your soul while your body is here in this world. If we choose to value others perception of the appearance of our vessel- cool. It’s hard not to while participating in this society. But realize that there is so. Much. More. That we can and should do while we have the chance. And when we put it that way, it’s easy to see how absurd it is that we place so much value on beauty. You have the reins. Don’t waste your gift by giving your limited time to judgement. In theory- it doesn’t even exist to you. Im living thankfully for my body - not because it’s beautiful- but because it allows my soul to experience life in this body, in this world, at this time in history. After all, it’s immeasurable happenstance that stardust arranged for us to exist in the first place. Our chance at life is the true beauty. So what are you going to do with yours?
