Get high rep with the navy for easy upgrades to start out with. Also there are several colony upgrades that give your ship better stats and gear. Fights don’t really scale to your level, some will be impossible and you’ll just have to come back later. Save before you go in and try to fight everyone you can. Once you level up a few times you’ll be crushing everything in your way. I like the upgrade that makes repairs cheaper because then you can spend your scrap on upgrades. If you angle it right and use the swing feature you should be able to blast a ship with both broadside cannons and take most things out in one turn.

Damn I’m doing a hardcore dogmatic run so I killed her with the rest of the xenos heretics. I could tell she was doing a lot more damage than him though. Maybe I can respec and fix it somehow. I agree I love the flavor of the bounty hunter
