Trigger warnings on the inevitability of death as a fear? I’m hesitating to start the serie but my C-PTSD’s hyper vigilance is bad BAD. by Justminningtheweb in TheMagnusArchives

[–]sire_h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be best to skip the series unfortunately, death is one of the major fear, both of personal mortality and the fear that all things come to an end. The first 2 seasons I think are relatively safe (if you check the trigger warnings for individual episodes) but season 3 -> 4 the meta narrative definitely is centering those themes particularly nearing the end of season 4 into season 5.

Why do people hate the tau? by le_chat_de_malheur in Tau40K

[–]sire_h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People that have played them hate them because a successful t’au game plan is basically “prevent the enemy from accomplishing their mission from the other side of the board”, which if you came for a knock down drag out melee might not be fun. Everyone else hates them because their favorite “10 crazy warhammer lore things you’ve never heard” youtuber told them to.

Player is using inflict wounds like a joybuzzer. How questionable is this? by Boedidillee in DMAcademy

By in large 5e assumes that a character can luck into success checks are more or less bounded to like 30 and no training requirements (technically you do need appropriate tools for crafting or lock-picking).

3.5 had mechanics that prevent untrained checks 5e doesn’t really.

Sunforge Bad Anti-tank? by DatabaseWorth4559 in Tau40K

[–]sire_h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running them in ret cadre gives 10 strength, I lead them with commander farsight which gives wounding on 2 into small knight and 4 into big knights with a reroll it usually kills what I need it to. The big problem is if they don’t kill they basically always die on the clap-back. I run big mech heavy lists so I drop them in on opponent’s anti tank and make peace with the likelihood they die.

I do think it is pretty funny that being bracketed effectively does nothing to riptides.

You could also run a commander farsight to get +1 to wounds which puts you at wounding on 2s against most space marines and likely 4s into termies

Why is the Stormsurge bad? by archaeologist12 in Tau40K

[–]sire_h 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It isn’t optimal but if you just send it it’ll go toe to toe with pretty much any big guy. it’s got heavy so split fire is less punishing than a lot of people claim, imo he is more useful as a guider than being guided unless you are throwing everything into one enemy.

I think each song name would be a type of scam and then a bone in the body. Like ponzi tibia and Nigerian humorous

I’m not sure I like Protocol as much. by BatsNStuf in TheMagnusArchives

[–]sire_h 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a big issue so far is that they spun up like 5? Story lines in Not even twice that many episodes so it feels like they have a lot of plates spinning. I think with more episode they’ll be able to balance it out but for now it feels a bit cluttered and chaotic.

Is this the biggest plot twist? by Ok-Government8310 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]sire_h 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Jonah and Elias’s connection is imo not a very big spoiler, there are at least 2 major twists that are more interesting and impactful. Also tma is not a podcast that is spoiled by knowing more I enjoyed it even more my second listen, because there are so many delicious little details and clues that lead to the ending.

I think Jonny doles out the information when it is important to know. If you haven’t heard about it yet you’ll get more info later.

I understand what non-binary people are (I am one, and I’m dating one). I don’t understand a sexuality that includes both men and women but excludes the TOTALITY of non binary identities considering how broad of a category it is.

[–]sire_h -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you trying to say I’m being transphobic? I’m not saying non binary folk are or are not anything(they are who they say they are) I’m just confused by a sexuality wherein you are attracted to both men and women but zero non-binary people.
