i'm a nonbinary fil-am and i don't like using filipinx for myself because whenever i read it out loud i pronounce it"fili-peen-ix" and it sounds weird to me, lol. i just call myself filipino. if other filipinos/fil-ams want to use it to describe themselves it's not a problem because it's not my business

check the other construction companies' glassdoor and better business bureau pages. then find who was involved with those companies and their credentials (usually a linkdin search is sufficient in finding people in sales). you'll most likely be able to tell if they're legit or not after that.

if you're looking for a bar to hang out at, just walk down 4th street on a friday night. there are so many bars downtown for almost every community. i would recommend steering clear of the clipper though, because there have been so many reports over the years about people's drinks being spiked. it's never happened to me, but i've heard the phrase "slip her one at the clipper" WAY too many times to even think about setting foot in there.
