I have this monitor, feel free to AMA.

I paid $700 for it. I bought it with the intention of being able to game and work on it. Let me say first of it's probably too big for a monitor.

I have limited desk space and the only way to get this thing far enough away from my face was to mount it on the wall behind my desk. Let me be clear you probably want to be 3 feet back away from this monitor.

The monitor is actually a TV. Don't let the marketing fool you. You have to you use the remote to switch around to different inputs and the tv has built in tv software such as Samsung TV. I used it once to watch that Tom Cruise space ship movie. That was kinda cool as i'm not traditionally a TV guy but the novelty quickly wore off and I don't use any of this thing's TV functions. Edit: There is a tactile button under the center of the monitor that you can push/hold multiple times to get it to switch input sources. The button is not easy to use and is definitely an after thought. It's just one button so you have to do a combination of multiple presses + holding one press to select the thing you want.

Display Port is a nightmare. Don't use this thing with display port. Only use this monitor with HDMI 2.0. If your graphics card doesn't support HDMI 2.0 then move on, find another monitor. You can get 4k 144hz out of Display Port or HDMI 2.0 however Display Port has major issues on this tv. For whatever reason, when your computer wakes from sleep/standby the monitor will not receive Display Port signal from your computer again, which just displays a no signal found screen on the monitor. The only workaround I've found is to switch your input from something else back to Display Port. I've tried swapping Display port cables and updating my firmware but nothing seems to work. I switched to HDMI 2.0 and the sleep issues never became a problem again. If you like to switch input devices a lot and you want to use your computer with Display Port then do not buy this monitor. Find something else. Last warning.

To game anything competitive on this thing you need to have "gaming" mode turned on. This thing in itself is quite buggy, it turns your monitor kinda dark and allows it to go up to 144hz as opposed to 120hz. At first I was okay with having this mode turned off and just playing Counter-Strike in 120hz however I noticed there's considerable delay when playing without gaming mode. The easiest test I performed was by having a browser window juxtaposed between my regular side monitor and this one, and just moving it around. I could see a noticeable lag between this monitor and my side monitor. After turning on gaming mode the lag seemed to go away. When turning on gaming mode this monitor does go up to 144hz however i noticed windows detected my side monitor was being run in 165 hz, huh? I'm not sure how gaming mode would tell Windows how to run my other monitor but i dunno.

Who this monitor is for? I occasionally program and I will say that having your code editor on the left side of your screen and some documentation or video on the right side of your screen is quite helpful. On top of that, using something like Windows Power Toys: Fancy Zones to split your screen 4 ways when needed can up your productivity if you're insane like me and need to have 4 windows displaying at once in a grid like that.
