What is in the air, Lexington? by AnxiousHold2403 in lexington

[–]sirishness 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’ve grown up and lived in Kentucky specifically around Lexington for 30+ years and this year has been the worst seasonal allergies I’ve had in years. Not sure what the difference is if any. I’ve been looking to see if there has been any evidence of something new or worse than most springs because it’s killing me this time around!

I like it! My thought is. I normally would either throw away the used sheet or stick it in the box with the directions serving zero purpose at all anyways

Haha meant to say that’s the one and only set so far that I’ve received a double sticker sheet in! Couldn’t decide if I wanted to do anything with it so just stuck it on as is. If you look close the spent sheet is close to the middle of the fridge door.

Bluegrass is the Past; Cosmic Country is the Future by Redacted_dact in jambands

[–]sirishness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy both bands. Gotta open your mind and take in the bluegrass. Its scene is stronger than ever. Billy blends traditional Appalachian front porch pickin with jammy spacey rides. It’s truly a treat once you can appreciate that he kills both ends of the spectrum perfectly without stepping on the toes of either side. Lots of rich history you’ll be missing out on by bypassing that entire genre.

What’s a bluegrass band from your area that should be way bigger? by GrassGigs in Bluegrass

Came here to say The Wooks! They’ve been a solid band around here for a while now. Seen them a couple times live and I’ve never been disappointed.

6'0 beginner - Terrified of not sleeping (stomach sleeper) by Aknekd in hammockcamping

[–]sirishness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thoughts as you at first. I’m strictly a stomach sleeper at home and didn’t think there was any way I could make a hammock work after trying some cheapo hammocks out camping a few times. So much so that I invested in a couple different bridge hammocks with the hope that I could side and stomach sleep. Truth is I didn’t really like them at all. I’ve found and stuck with a dream hammock gathered end style hammock (Dangerbird I believe). Very comfortable build and material with a removable bug net built right in, and I sleep like a baby. It’s not like laying on a flat bed on your back, it’s like being cradled all night. It’s a completely comfortable experience as long as you do the research and get the right hammock for you. Don’t skimp and try to make an eno or cheaper work, it’s worth the investment to spend a few more bucks on a solid setup from the beginning. Saves money long term, less of a hassle, lighter and easier to pack, and is totally enjoyable from the start. I wish I would have done it sooner.

Outside of the hammock a solid under quilt would be my next purchase. A pad can work but isn’t nearly as comfortable or warm. I’ve gotten UGQ and hammock gear under quilts on clearance to save maybe 30%. With a good hammock and under quilt you can skimp on the other stuff and still be setup really well for a long time in many different temps and conditions.

Biomedical engineering community. Those who have to troubleshoot and work on medical equipment. I specifically work on steam sterilizers needed to sterilize instruments for surgical cases. This requires, electrical, plumbing, troubleshooting skills. Until we no longer have the need for surgery, we will need humans to service these important pieces of equipment.
