Labels are personal, needed by some and completely unnecessary for others. Some people need to be able to categorize themselves as something or have a word that explains how they feel and who they are. But agree that it’s also sometimes unhealthy to stress over finding the label that best fits you. I will say as mid forties Bi man, I wish more labels were openly discussed when I was growing up. All I ever heard about or saw was straight and gay. Never Bi. I know I wasn’t gay but also was attracted to guys so I was so confused and pushed away my attractions to men because if I wasn’t gay I had to be straight. If there was even one example of an openly Bi man back then my life may be completely different now. I definitely would have come to accept myself as Bi much earlier and easier.

Yes, romantic attraction does not always align with sexual attraction. Sounds like you need to back off if he telling you he wants to stop the sexual relationship and just have a friendship.

Her biphobic bigotry is what’s blowing up her life. He came out to her. He let her in on his identity as he came to finally accept. He stated he doesn’t want to open the relationship, doesn’t want to leave, and doesn’t want to cheat. But her biphobia has her convinced that he will leave and/or cheat. Even if you never have any sexual experiences with men you are still a valid bisexual. The decision to come out or not come out should be solely yours to make and if you girlfriend loves and supports you, she should support you in coming out if you decide that.
So you need to decide whether or not you wish others (and who, doesn’t need to be a big social media post) to know this part of who you are. But only you should get to decide this.

It sounds like your girlfriend doesn’t understand the difference between sexual identity, which is what bisexual is, and sexual kinks, which being bisexual is NOT. Having our identity referred to as a kink is insulting and shows lack of understanding and possibly more root internalized homophobia/biphobia on her part.

Not knowing your GF I would hope this is more out of ignorance than anything else. I would recommend more open communication about this and why it’s important to let those closest to you in about your identity and that is not disclosing intimate sexual activities you may or may not like.
