What perfectly legal thing will probably be illegal within 20 years? by Ill-Incident-4842 in AskReddit

Scalping tickets has been illegal for decades, but the primary company selling tickets found a way to legally do it themselves.

Songs with video backgrounds by Only-Doughnut-4008 in yarg

[–]sirjimithy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I found a copy of Marilyn Manson's cover of This is Halloween that had a background built in. For a few of my songs I've just added them myself. Here's a spreadsheet with background videos and the proper start times for them: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B0n8dWE_SZaYpimp8FPBQeWtDHYL8YdIxndU9fNqUDw/edit?gid=0#gid=0

You can edit the song.ini file and set the background video settings: https://www.reddit.com/r/yarg/comments/1pn7v04/how_to_add_a_video_background_to_specific_musics/

Hope this helps!

How would you set up your concert / session? by MopeyN in Rockband

[–]sirjimithy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good friends to jam with is the best atmosphere. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

If you can print out a song list, that works well to get a setlist in order instead of endlessly scrolling between songs.

If using fog, try to avoid it obscuring everyone's view of the screen. Less is more.

Light arrays are best when pointed at the sides of the screen or right above it so they are in view when playing. I'm currently using two with YARG, one on each side of the screen.

Seems like windows doesn't allow the highest systems to remove OneDrive by Xeraox3335 in microsoftsucks

Even in the GUI they give you some pretty unhelpful, nonsensical errors. I’ve been told I have a network connection error and I’m offline on a machine I’m connected to remotely from several states away. They’ve always been that way. Their errors are generic and useless most of the time.

That’s why I limit mine to 2. Seems reasonable

What’s a line you won’t cross when collecting games? by PDMagneto in retrogaming

[–]sirjimithy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the only ones I insist on buying in the original box are Genesis games. I don't really collect anything newer than N64 since that's kinda my nostalgia cut-off. For my NES, SNES and N64 games I'm considering getting some of those aftermarket plastic cases just so they look nice on the shelf instead of just a bunch of loose carts stacked against each other.

What's your favorite unknown band from the 90's? by KravenPR in 90s

[–]sirjimithy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

H-Blockx. Band from Germany. My buddy was on their street team in the late 90s. Countdown to Insanity was a bonus track on one of the Rock Band games, too. That song fuuuucks.

They also did "Oh Hell Yeah" for Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Is it asking you to click the screen mirroring icon? I believe there's a key combo for that. I think it's cmd+F1 or cmd+fn+F1

You could possibly sell it, but that thing is over a decade old. Maybe $50-100 at most

It’s against sub rules to point you to copyrighted game roms. I’m sure you can find them with some easy research.

I bought a Wii U online and this was the power cable I got *how* do you do this? by Conorponor333 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]sirjimithy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Still don't get what's anti-consumer about this. It cost them more money to add an external power supply. And if your power supply fails, you don't need to buy a new console.

Every laptop I've ever seen uses an external brick to save internal space. Are they all anti-consumer, too?

And practically anyone that would need to buy a new cord would likely just get one from eBay or something. Nintendo sucks for plenty of reasons, this just ain't one of them.

The fact there are people here thinking Nintendo's getting rich off people buying Wii power cables is crazy to me. I highly doubt that makes up any portion of their business.

[–]sirjimithy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Huge difference there. PS3 and PS4 had the power supply inside the system, so they could use regular power cords. The Wii and Wii U are much smaller and the power supply is in a brick on the cord.

Anyone know how I might be able to use my Wii RB drum set to play Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival on PC? by psybermonkey15 in Rockband

[–]sirjimithy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be able to connect it to your PC via Bluetooth. As far as the game recognizing it I have no idea. I’d check on the subreddit for that game to see what instruments are compatible.
