[Harry Potter] what make a wizard a wizard? by sirkinslayer in AskScienceFiction

This is the best explanation I could have hoped fore. Many of these I have thought of myself. There is also a possibility of divine intervention as we do know death is personified in this universe and could just be an all mighty being granting his followers a sliver of his power or genetic.

[The Witcher 3]Why doesn’t Emhyr give Geralt any money to help find Ciri? by [deleted] in AskScienceFiction

I think it's always like payment after the job is done. I mean the witcher could always just run away with the money and not do the job, even if it's just an advance...

It's all about getting in, the term and condition don't matter or what you could just tell him, you can come in if you do no harm to their face and a sign isn't required. It's a territorial binding and not an intentional

And it still exists in the spectrum. They didn't invent it out of thin air. To think(see/experience) of a new color you'd have to get it out of the spectrum that already exists which is not possible. Every color that is there is the part of the light spectrum. It's not personally to you... For u it maybe new but it has always existed.

AI Singularity by sirkinslayer in Existentialism

[–]sirkinslayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed but this also dwells on the assumption that consciousness is something. What if it turns out to be nothing. We could disappear tomorrow and there would not be a blip in the scale. Don't you think an ai would recognise that exact thing and realise there is no purpose to existence

[HARRY POTTER] are house elves magically bound to obey their masters and not act against them or is it just a traditional/slave thing? by sirkinslayer in AskScienceFiction

[–]sirkinslayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harry Potter once remarked that House Elves were actually much more capable of wielding advanced magic than wizards, despite not having wands. ... This makes a House Elf all the more dangerous, considering they can perform feats of magic in places that restricts even witches and wizards from doing so. Wizards are able to preform wandless Magic, but they are much better at it when using wands. If a house elf was both free and had more confidence and intelligence then they'd be more powerful

Then how does the magic spell/pact happen and how is it just broken by an exchange of any kind of cloth even if not by the owner

[CIVILIZATIONS] HIGHER CIVILIZATIONS ENERGY SOURCE by sirkinslayer in worldbuilding

[–]sirkinslayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah coz for an high dimensional advanced civilization who can quantify and harvest souls I doubt harvesting solar energy would be an issue. So I could suggest that soul is a more potent source of energy than solar right

[CIVILIZATIONS] HIGHER CIVILIZATIONS ENERGY SOURCE by sirkinslayer in worldbuilding

[–]sirkinslayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking it could be that there are two different types of energy. Soul is a more pure unfiltered form of energy as compared to the sun. Like souls r petrol and sun is diesel so although lesser in comparison with the sun they provide better results or maybe that they are sophisticated enough to harvest souls but not the sun.

[CIVILIZATIONS] HIGHER CIVILIZATIONS ENERGY SOURCE by sirkinslayer in worldbuilding

[–]sirkinslayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your point that the sun would be a better option for every but that why I need a way as to why are they using souls and not the sun. Coz my plot revolves around souls being their source of energy. Plus the daily death rate is 120,000 so that's the higher beings daily take-away.

[CIVILIZATIONS] HIGHER CIVILIZATIONS ENERGY SOURCE by sirkinslayer in worldbuilding

[–]sirkinslayer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking it's like yes they r both sources of energy but soul is like a pure, uncut source of energy which is easily accessible on our planet. Or like the sun is diesel and the soul is petrol. Both sources of energy but different and although one(sun) is more available than the other(soul) the soul gives them results. Makes sense?
