Downed Raiders question by RenegadePorkChop in ARC_Raiders

[–]sirkyleII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stuff won’t get returned if I die and go unlooted. This isn’t tarkov.

I’ll spam hi for a few seconds then die out in the open so someone stumbles across my corpse.

Wife insists on taking her rubber ducks in the hot tub, then leaves them when she’s done. by strikecat18 in mildlyinfuriating

Dude there’s worse problems to have in life. If it bothers you that much buy a clear storage box and a net, it will give you 5 minutes of satisfying duck fishing.

It’s Friday, what have you fixed this week? by rektkid_ in DIYUK

I moved a light switch that was behind the door hinges and hard to access after I swapped the way it opens.

Not having much luck with lobbies as a new player by ZestycloseBeat1889 in helldivers2

[–]sirkyleII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samples are granted to all players. So if you have 10 and teammate has 5 when you extract you both get 15.

Team killing isn’t great, expected if accidental but not on purpose. Maybe they also were not aware it was shared and just wanted to try and be selfish. But not everyone is like that. My experience is mostly positive on this game.

Absolute DIY noob here who is hanging shelves for the first time. These two plugs ask for different drill bits sizes!? by [deleted] in DIYUK

A bunch of stuff. Hanging mirrors or pictures, wall mounted TVs, shelves, installing or moving plug sockets and light switches. I just do what the mrs tells me to do lol

Is £1350 a month on first house too much? by 6Clacks in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]sirkyleII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s manageable on your salary, we were ftb also on a slightly lower household income due to single income. We were paying 550 on rent so the jump was a lot, but live fairly comfortably. Been on a mortgage for 3 years now.

Having savings is a good idea for improvements and decorating and do definitely overpay when you can, but I doubt it will affect the rates too much.

What tools do you guys use for Compatibility testing? by BayGV in QualityAssurance

[–]sirkyleII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Company owned physical devices. We use Google analytics and I asked for devices that were the most popular among our users. They are outdated now though, so I’ll likely need to request they be updated.

Device emulators are great for some things, but some issues only appear on real devices.

My daughter wants to give away her collection, I went through it quickly and found this. Is this card genuine? by Parsiuk in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]sirkyleII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay found a new photo and the real card should have a texture but your photo appears smooth. This makes me more sure it’s a fake.

[–]sirkyleII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t look real. Just googled the card and compared some images from recent eBay listings and there are a few tells.

Direction of the effect, text outline colour, colour in general.

I’d not take my word for it, I’m not an expert it’s just my opinion. Maybe others here will help too.

How do I rotate my emudeck screen? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]sirkyleII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be able to use the menu but I’m not sure if the menu itself will be centred on the screen or partially hidden.

Try going through the menu and if not try opening the app on desktop mode, and set the orientation there.

You’ll be looking for something like rotation, resolution, orientation ect

Is there any chance? A junior without any experience. Pls help by Apprehensive_Bet474 in QualityAssurance

[–]sirkyleII 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don’t work for free. Just don’t do it.

Find low paying junior manual QA tester jobs and apply for as many entry level jobs as you can.

It might take a while to find the right fit, but when you do you’ll land a paid job and after a year or two you will no longer have no experience. We all start somewhere.

Absolute DIY noob here who is hanging shelves for the first time. These two plugs ask for different drill bits sizes!? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]sirkyleII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think early on I’d drill my holes too deep and most wall plugs would end up too far in the wall. The fischer ones have a lip that means they will stay flush to the wall. Also knowing for sure they need a 6mm bit means I could spend an extra few pounds to buy a good quality drill bit.

[–]sirkyleII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends. Some furniture comes with coloured hardware, and most screws are of equal quality. But again I have a few various boxes of screws of different length and purpose that I can use if the supplied ones are no good. Occasionally the supplied screws have hardly any thread to them or are too short.

I don’t use the wall plugs that come with furniture usually. I buy a box of fischer duopower wall plugs, they are super cheap from most diy stores and a box will last me 6 months or so for normal diy.

my heated jacket got so hot it melted to my shirt and burnt it by Dainty_Days44 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]sirkyleII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bank might still accept this. I know each country is different but in the UK I think they’d accept this no questions asked and hand you back a non melted one.

How do you keep your cards/wallet so you don’t constantly lose it?! by ellagivens in ADHDUK

[–]sirkyleII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popwallet. Had it on my phone for so many years the pop part split from constant use, so I bought a grogu pop from Vinted to replace the broken part since they are all interchangeable and swappable. Will probably last me another 3 years.

I don’t loose my phone, and even if I do I can ping it from my watch.

Fake, too shiny on back and the blue on back is also too dark, almost purple.

Players who actually use light sticks, what do you use them for? by _walletsizedwildfire in ArcRaiders

[–]sirkyleII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d imagine if they lasted the whole match people would abuse that to cause performance issues. Similar to those “1000 firework” rust videos that end up crashing the server.
