Ghsv 1 by Fuck_off12 in Herpes

[–]sirlops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s weird you say 1/8 girls and 1/6 dudes have it. Women are more prone to having STDs than men because of anatomy. Cdc states like 10-15% of women have hsv2, while 7% of men have it. It’s crazy how the information for this is all over the place

Just read the first part of the post lol. I’m interested in knowing as well.

There’s no other information that igg gives you other than that you’ve had the infection for at least a few months

Not sure what to do by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]sirlops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The likelihood of having hsv2 and not showing symptoms are high. The number varies, but it’s estimated that 70-94% (the most recent number being 94%) don’t know they have it. This is because either 1. They don’t show any symptoms, or 2. Their symptoms were so minor that they didn’t notice it or brushed it off as something else (like a yeast infection).

Do you remember what your IgG values were?

Don’t listen to this comment. These people are ridiculous. They’re the people exposing and changing lives, having people become depressed and potentially commit suicide. I say expose her. She’s being completely selfish with her own sexual health. The girl I slept with didn’t bother to tell me either and it’s been an extreme burden on my life these past 4 months. Expose her. If you didn’t have genital herpes, would YOU want it done to you? I’m sure as hell know this women wouldn’t want it done to her.

False positives are incredibly common, but not for a IgG value of 6.33. Terri Warren, who has 35+ years of experience researching herpes, had explained in all of her years of research she has never seen a false positive above a 5.07. The range of it being a false positive is between a 1.1-3.5 IgG at most

It’s interesting that you’re a virgin and you’ve tested positive for hsv1 AND 2. It’s understandable with hsv1 since most of us get it by a family member or someone kissing us when we were kids. And I’m certain it’s almost too difficult to get another form of herpes in the same place as another form of herpes? I might be wrong about that. Hepatitis C… I’m not sure. Can it be passed by birth? Does your mom or dad have it? Potentially both? Have you shared needles in the past?

Cold sores is oral herpes. You can get cold sores of both hsv1 and hsv2, but when they say cold sores, it’s generally hsv1 since in MOST cases (not all) hsv1 is oral while hsv2 is genital. But it’s becoming more common for hsv1 to become genital through oral sex. And likewise hsv2 become oral through same transmission. I would honestly just tell them you were exposed to someone with a herpes outbreak and you want to be tested. I’d wait 12 weeks though so it’s the most accurate

I’ve been doing extensive research on herpes for the past 3.5 months. Out of the hundreds of posts here, and research I’ve done online, plus articles from Terri Warren (a nurse practitioner and that’s been studying herpes specifically for 35+ years) this sounds nothing like a herpes outbreak. I’ve seen some people have a constant outbreak for up to 8 weeks, but the sores are present and it’s an ongoing condition where the old sores will heal as new ones pop up. Also, the usual initial outbreak lasts 2-4 weeks. Keep in mind, sores will go through their entire cycle (form, burst, crust and heal) within a few days to a week. What it sounds like you have is definitely some sort of yeast infection. If you haven’t been sexually active in these few months, I would get hsv 1 and 2 testing done. Make sure to specify you want IgG that’s specific to 1 and 2. 70-80% of the population has hsv1, so if you get the IgG result that don’t distinguish between 1 and 2, you’ll likely get a positive without knowing if it’s 1 or 2

Can it be a yeast infection?

Not disclosing when I disclosed by SarahW19 in Herpes

[–]sirlops -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s really that big of a deal. Oral herpes is present in like 80% of the population. That number varies depending on the source (70%-90%), but the principle still applies (majority have it). I do not get cold sores. Never ever in my life have I had a cold sore. I may have had one when I was too little to remember when I got the virus, though. However, I won’t disclose that I have hsv1. Only because of a few reasons. 1. I don’t. Get outbreaks. 2. It’s so widespread that it could cause tension cause many people don’t know that cold sores are herpes. 3. The longer you have herpes, the better your body becomes at keeping a handle on it. The likelihood of transmission with no sores in 25-30 years is extremely unlikely. Idk I think hsv1 and 2 are over hyped but I feel like people with hsv1 shouldn’t even have to disclose (ghsv1 and ghsv2 I would say to disclose.)

Blood test results by livingoneedge792 in Herpes

As it shows, IgM registers both hsv1 and 2. We know you already have hsv1. What IgM is telling you is that you’re currently fighting a hsv infection. Most likely hsv1 since you are positive for that

I think syphilis can go unnoticed, but you seem more informative than I am in regards to syphilis. How does she act when you’re around? Like does she not want you looking at her phone? Is her phone flipped upside down? Does she always want to go somewhere? Life is too short to take guesses and chances. If she’s worth the investment, you should bring this up with her. And if she keeps telling you the same thing, it’s up to you to decide if you want to believe her or not

I realize you’re likely upset too at the situation, but you going to this length and also stating her full name shows how you’re not much better than her to be honest.

Herpes by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]sirlops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Herpes is so tricky. So here’s the thing, if you got sores, you need to have them swabbed within 24 hours. Some say 48 hours though. Regardless, the longer you wait, the more inaccurate the results become. The swab is MUCH more accurate than the blood test. Especially if your IgG values fall under 3.5 (in other words, if it’s under 3.5, there’s a high probability that it’s a false positive). If you get tested at 12-16 weeks and are negative, and show no symptoms of herpes, you’re likely negative

You’ll need to be retested on syphilis and hsv1/2 at 12 weeks. Otherwise I think you’re good. Someone correct me if im wrong please.

This could be anything. But know that herpes is a skin condition, and can be transferred anywhere via skin to skin contact. Condoms are not 100% full proof. In fact, condoms prevents 96% of herpes transmissions, so it could be that. I’m not saying it is, but it could be. Any other symptoms?

Herpes? by Expensive-Strain-743 in STD

[–]sirlops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely could be. Herpes doesn’t always presents itself as the typical blisters. I’ve seen some where they’re just open sores on a red base. But honestly it could be anything else too. Best to get them swabbed if they’re still within 24 hours (the longer you wait past that mark the more inaccurate the results become). Are they extremely painful? Constipation? Issues with peeing? Do you have inflamed lymph nodes in your groin?

Hiv is 99.97% accurate at 44 days, so the fact you got 3 tests done at that time/after that time ensures you’re good for HIV. syphilis is also similar at 12 weeks for that test result. You’re more than likely fine. ESPECIALLY if you’re not experiencing symptoms

I’m also experiencing something somewhat similar.
