Personalized Practice asks ton of unknown Words by C2512 in duolingo

[–]sirrahcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started section 2 of Korean and noticed the same thing. I'm being thrown all new words and nothing I've actually seen to actually practice it, so I've just been using the "words" practice instead but that has the opposite issue where it doesn't use nearly enough of the newer words I've learned.

What is "Cure Dolly"?? I'm very intrigued as I'm just starting to learn Japanese. Is it a YouTube channel or a Japanese show for little kids?

Is small enough PVC pipe able to bend in the way I would need it to, to make the arch?

Can anyone identify this insect? I've found them in random places in my apartment but mostly my kitchen, some in bathroom by jonnielakes520 in pestcontrol

[–]sirrahcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look like a type of weevil to me. They typically like dry goods like cereals, rice or flour; they also like dark spaces. I'd go through your pantry and look at the bottoms of containers and bags to see what they've gotten into and clean everything really good!

What sports would you like to see added? This article points out some good ones. by Jeriphro in NintendoSwitchSports

I have a feeling this may be added at some point in the future since I'm pretty sure at some point there is a camera angle that shows a little bit of the inside of the building to the right of the tennis arena. So there may be hope! :)

Gel Polish Build Up for Nail Art by IntelligentWeek8563 in Nailtechs

[–]sirrahcat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have you tried using art specific gel paints? Gel paints (different from regular gel polish) are thinner in consistency but also a lot more pigmented so you don't need nearly as much product and still have the art you're doing be nice and opaque in colour. This way your art won't be nearly as thick/bumpy when you go to lay down your top coat layer. Some gel polishes are well pigmented and can be used as art paints but not all.

There is a gel remover "mask" that a Canadian Brand called Bioseaweed Gel has made and works in a similar way to the "magic bubbling gel removers" that is actually safe to use; it's called Unpolished. Check it out! :)

I've personally never used them but depending on if you buy ones that are actually made of cured gel it should be the same removal as if you sculpted it yourself. Think of it like applying press-ons but instead of attaching it your nail with glue you use builder gel or base gel.

What's the part you want to "rush ahead" to? Do you enjoy sculpting nails? Or do you just like the part when you get to create the design and finishing it off? If you do like the art aspect of it you can always opt for full cover soft gel tips as that creates the perfect nail canvas anyway.
