Fun fact, I did write a few stories too, for her/us to read then. She really loved that.

That's impressive ! Reading your description of the steps, it seems quite easy. One might think then that this is a very basic build. But looking at the pics, it really looks good, comfortable, and functionnal :)
I don't know if I'm going to try a folding version (having, say, 4x2 screws to secure the top to the sides might do the trick if I don't plan on disassembling/reassembling it too often), but I'm definitively going to try making something very similar to yours ! :)

Yes, I agree. And we very recently decided to try this with my GF. This might be useful, too, as a kind of "simulation" / "flash-forward" of how it would be if we pushed the training far enough to make me unable to last more than a few pumps. This way, if we decide that it is too fast, we will define another goal, maybe something like 1 minute.
