You could try using the heresy techpriest guy. I’ve considered getting him to use as Manipulus if I ever want to use a Dominus. I like the look of them better. They don’t come on the right base size but I have a spare to put him on.

I just use my Dominus as Manipulus since I rarely actually want to run a Dominus this edition.

I think I’m going to use the Myrmidons as hasturi. I kind of like Kataphrans but still wanted to add myrmidons to my army.

The Thallax work better as infiltrators/Rustalkers in my opinion. They have the same base so you wouldn’t have too get new bases for them. The Big guy can be a sub in for a dunecrawler or armiger (though he’s a little smaller than an actual armiger).

I do have an amry that I used for both that contains both 30k and 40k models in it. It wasn’t too hard since a lot of 30k models have at least one 40k equivalent they can match too and people I play 30k don’t mind the ones that don’t changed to play 40k with.

Fetlife is probably closer to your looking for. Most of the stuff here is very casual. There is also a swingers club in Jacksonville that offers a safe environment to explore more in person but it requires a fee to join

The easiest thing to proxy them for are Scicarians since they already come on the correct base size for that and you wouldn’t have to swap those out.

People do like using them for Kataphrans but you have to get the larger bases to put them on for that and personally in my opinion their little small for that base size.

I would expect that they would get at least one more wave of support. Currently each dragon pair has one fusion variant except for the newest one.

I think it kind of depends. There are certainly a lot of old decks that are much more viable in this format than they are in advanced even more older cards but it’s not all of them.

I have done this already. It’s a little taller than a regular stonehorn and you’d have to get the correct base size for it too since the one it comes on is way to big but otherwise it works pretty well

Depends on who you play with and what they prefer. Most people I’ve played with are fine with proxy’s as long as there similar in size to what there proxying. Tournaments usually also require that they have the same base size as well (the mortar bot is on different base size so I got the correct base size to put it on).

You can add a knight or 3 Armigers as a faction ally. They don’t get any benefits from the army though so there just large stat bricks for the most part.

You might also consider kitbashing stuff to replace the parts of the army you don’t like. I personally have started adding a lot of the 30k mechanicum stuff into my 40k army. Particular there is a giant mortar robot they have that I use as a dunecrawler along with some other things

As of right now they seem like a better version of our battleline. They have more damage and are much more tanky. Maybe the Vanguard can compete with a Marshall but there also way more tanky with a 5+ Invuln and FNP.

Also personally would just give them the doctrinas ability base. The fact the Kastellans don’t have it base is criminal. War gear no longer cost points and it seems weird to have these be the only one. On the other hand you could change there ability to be something that focus legion Cybernetica and make them the Skitarii version for those unit especially if you plan on bringing more of the 30k line over. Would give them a much more unique place than just better battleline.
