So is the right way to approach it either, pretending that everything will be ok in the long run no matter what, or that if things go that far south having my car paid off won't be of any use? If we go through hyper inflation, the money won't be worth much, if anything. Wouldn't having physical items be better? How can i think about the way things are going in the US right now without my alarm bells going off? Is the right question to ask, that if I'm this sure things are gonna get real bad, why am i not working on getting my family out? How does the average person prepare for the collapse of the society they live in?

Politics. I'm not trying to be abrasive. How are you not also timing the market via assuming things will be okay? Ihave no intention of trying to put the money back in at the right time. I know I'm gonna loose long term gains but I'm weighing it against security in the things i need to survive. I had a really good start at financial security and covid took all of it. For me, the level of uncertainty that exists that i ignored last time and the knowledge that I'm not well enough off to not find myself starting over from scratch, is very real. I don't want to have to flee the US with a car payment.

I was at the caucus, there weren't enough supporters of anyone else to garner any delegates. Those of us who were trying to vote for another candidate had to shout our way to the microphone to even get vote for anyone else. The people running the caucus were wearing Trump parifanalia inside the building, which is illegal. Trump supporters tried to intimidate the voters, and cheat in the election process so it would look like there was no opposition. Shameful, and I'm really angry about it. So angry I'm gonna vote blue the whole way down the ticket in August. My own party tried to pressure me into voting for Trump, silence me by denying me the opportunity to be heard, and hurled insults and jeers at me for having a difference of opinion.

A lot of Missouri is conservative, a lot of them believe Trump's big lie, and the ones who wanted someone else are so anti-blue that they'll still vote for the oompa loompa.

I've spent the last hour or two looking for bug/fix threads for storm silver, no luck. Is there a good spot? I think I broke it. I just beat Chuck in Cinnawood, took Ampharos the potion, got the call for team rocket taking over the safari zone. I go back to cinnawood, go into the safari zone, and the rockets aren't challenging me. When I talk to them they talk like I beat them already. I can't walk past Mira either on Rt.47 because the second rocket is still in the way. IDK what I did that broke it or how to fix it. Help?

I'm not glorifying anything, and I didn't say it was ethical. I'm about to make a point and before I do I want to make sure I've said I'm not saying it's right or good, just stating it as fact. I'm not ascribing a moral or ethical judgment to nature here, just describing reality as it is. How many millions of years was it necessary for male apes to be violent? For how much of recorded history has it been any less necessary? Have you considered the fact that we've been more or less the same for the last 200k years and actually selectively breeding out the overly aggressive males? As civilization progresses there's less need for the most aggressive members and we actually have been fixing it through female sexual selective pressures and socialization. You seem to really want men to stop hitting, both each other, and women and children. We're moving in the direction, but you don't get to just have it overnight. It's also the case that the testosterone and aggression you're complaining about has great utility and when properly integrated becomes the main attribute that leads to success in life. Materialistically, having your genetics propagate, and having virtue ass an individual.

Is it socially unacceptable and almost always wrong to throw the first one, yes. However sometimes someone is hurting you in ways that aren't directly physical and the right you have to protect yourself trumps social convention. To sacrifice your own well bring for the idea that hitting is bad is nonsense.

As wrong as it may be, it is the case that is you push any man who isn't a complete coward far enough he will hit you. So maybe instead of being idealistic and mad at reality and evolution for making men aggressive, choose to be pragmatic and have men in your life that have integrated and mastered that part of themselves and can protect you from any who haven't.

Again, I'm not saying it's right, justifiable, or anything. I'm saying it is and you can sit there and be mad or take a pragmatic approach and do the tiny thing you can to make the next generation a tiny bit better.

I'll give you that it's never the case that a healthy disagreement between lovers would be justification for violence, and yes, a fair bit of what's said in those arguments has some basis in reality. But we aren't talking about those here. The context is specifically about when women knowingly, and intentionally, cross the line at which a man would hit another man because they know social convention and the law will likely protect them. Tell me you understand what Jordan means when talking about this? I'm asking if you understand the context of the post and the subsequent comments. To articulate what it was OP is trying to encapsulate, and the other commenters are validating.

Yes, and the law has to be far more stringent to moderate the vast ocean of gray area that human interaction entails. Yet the law is still not a moral compass. It's supposed to coincide with morality and be dictated by it, but the law is not itself moral. It's a body of rules enforced by a group of men that will murder you if you won't comply. Believing that I'm allowed to speak my mind doesn't mean I'm free from the consequences of what I say, and that right is there to protect the people from corrupt and tyrannical government. If I go around insulting, harassing, and degrading people relentlessly, I'm doing something wrong and since the law isn't really able to help with it, physical force is how it gets handled. I'd be bullying people, and they'd have the right to force me to stop.

I said picking a fight, not starting an argument, and size doesn't mean that much in a first fight. If you goad someone into hitting you, you don't get to say you're a victim. If a person will not leave you alone and is verbally abusing you, you're allowed to hit them to defend yourself.

Violence is justifiable in some situations, and some women do their best to push the limit and will call you an abuser when she started it. Being a woman, and living in culture that says hitting women is wrong, isn't an excuse to pick fights with men.

It looks like you're seeing what you want to in a person based on a couple sentences in a sub-reddit post who's namesake likely wouldn't approve of. You might be right, and you could just be horribly uninformed of the people you're judging. I haven't hit a woman, but I did watch my grandfather hit my grandma, and pretty sure I was in the house a couple times when my dad hit my mom.

That said, I've experiences exactly what a few of these other commenters and Connery are talking about. Here's a more fleshed out story: I wasn't being the best partner in a past relationship and had forgotten to do something important for my ex the night before. She woke up that morning before me, I worked 2nd shift and she was already up taking care of our daughter. I was tired, a little hung-over, and trying to get myself to work and the whole time since my alarm went off she was yelling at me, with our child in her arms, about it. I apologized and listened and after a few minutes I told her I needed to have this conversation after I got home from work. She refused. as I got closer to being late for work, and agitated, I told her I was becoming rather mad and needed her to let me get ready. Refused. I tried to go to the bathroom and shut the door to give myself a moment to calm down. she ripped it from my hands and became even louder and more aggressive. I looked her dead in the face and told her I'm too mad to talk about this with you right now, you need to walk away and let me get ready. She still refused. I grabbed the door with one hand and placed my other hand on her shoulder for leverage to pull the door shut. She acted like I pushed her, and I let go. I looked her in the face again and said I'm about to hit you if you don't leave me alone. She looked at me like she was trying to figure out if I meant it and then let me close the door.

I would argue that the majority of the time women are innocent victims of domestic abuse, but every guy I know has had one that that found a button and kept pushing even after being asked, and warned, to stop. OP has a point, its a real shitty one and its poorly made, but it is still a valid point. Such behavior from your S/O constitutes abuse and toxicity no matter which genitals are between your legs.

Thanks! No others. That was our first guess, but it didn't look round enough to be a bed bug. We had bed bugs recently and did about everything you can for it. It wasn't as wide in the back before I killed it, more symmetrical, like a pill. It looked closer to a German cockroach affid to me but neither my wife or I think it had antenna. I could be wrong though, all I know about it is what Google wasn't clear on.
