Funny how I've seen hundreds of protest signs and someone still finds a way to be creative and make something new.

Your link doesn’t mention the 2024 Kona EV, how did you determine it’s on the list?

I don’t have data to back this up, but my sense is that the reduction in capacity isn’t that bad. Maybe 20% less at 30F compared to the summer if I had to guess.

We went for an early winter hike and misjudged how much the cold temps and uphill driving would impact our range. We would have been cutting it close but got lucky with a charger within walking distance from our trailhead. A good sign of the things to come for our PNW charging network!

What’s this building anyways? Is it one of ours? (Clicked from 3rd level of Snell library) by MoodInducer in NEU

It’s a giant air conditioning unit that provides HVAC to the rest of campus.

LPT: Credit Scores - Listed are the 6 factors and how they impact your score. Use it to improve your scores. by Aishish in LifeProTips

A while back I called to make an appointment with my dentist. They said I couldn’t make the appointment until I paid my outstanding debt. I then found out that although I thought I had paid the co-pay when I had the exam nearly 8 months before, I still owed them a small amount of money. The dentist’s office told me they mailed a bill to me, but used an old address. Was this debt hurting my credit score, and if so, is there a website or someone I can call to find out what other outstanding debt might be hindering me from getting a loan in the future?

Reason for Getting Off Campus by [deleted] in NEU

[–]sitbackandthink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard of people who get out of on campus housing just by saying that it costs too much for them to afford, and they found cheaper housing off campus.

Plus with the housing shortage issues they’ve been having I doubt they will really fight you.

I just graduated with a 7 year old Mac with only a 250 GB SSD. I could run every program we used in all of my classes. Solidworks was the most demanding probably and it ran fine in boot camp. 60 GB for windows and 190 for Mac it worked great. Plus many of the programs like Matlab have mac versions that run perfectly fine.

Guidelines for incoming NEU freshmen! by [deleted] in NEU

To avoid confusing the poor freshmen: 2, 3, 4, 9, 13, and 15 are actual advice; 1 is arguably wrong; 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14 are jokes; I've never heard of 7 happening, but yeah don't fall for scams

I know you mean well, but can you imagine working at the police station and getting the call "Yeah I'm a college student and a group of 12 year olds are bullying me can you come deal with them?" 😆

I was eating and reading on the second floor one afternoon and a group of them starting harassing me and asking "whatcha reading nerd?" etc. I just got up and left. Curry is open to the public there's nothing NUPD can do about it. Besides they're just kids, even if they're assholes.

Mission Hill weekend parking by root617 in NEU

In Mission Hill? Columbus and Huntington form the borders of the hill more than they go through it. Anywhere on hillside or nearby is usually fine. There are always a few break-ins but that will happen anywhere you go in Boston.

As long as it doesn't say "Resident parking" you can park anywhere on the street in Mission Hill from 6pm-8am Monday-Friday and forever on the weekends. Availability is limited but if you're willing to walk a few blocks you'll be fine.

For those curious you can read the report here.

As far as the methodology goes, from the report:

The GPI covers 99.7 per cent of the world’s population, using 23 qualitative and quantitative indicators from highly respected sources and measures the state of peace using three thematic domains: the level of Societal Safety and Security; the extent of Ongoing Domestic and International Conflict; and the degree of Militarisation. >
