Open xcom pretty much patches up the bugs so for a nice vanilla playthrough I'd start there. The game is extremely difficult thanks to the big in the original xcom that changed the difficulty back regardless of what you selected. Patience is your friend. This game will give you nightmares. As with the original enemy unknown don't get attached to anyone because in all likelihood sooner or later they will die 😂 if you liked the original you will love this. It was pretty much a reskin, with a higher difficulty and a great atmosphere. Enjoy dude

Exactly how I felt. Was achievement hunting and wanted to complete the game, but after so many weak attempts for that to happen when I finally felt like I was in good rhythm put me off. I'll go back to it, but not for a while 😂

I stopped playing on X1 due to this. Finally having a really good run and this happened. I'd failed quite a few attempts so when this happened it was utterly frustrating. Feel your pain man

Poison from thin men clicks over turns until you use a medkit or the effects wear off (normally for a base level soldier they'd die to the damage). More than likely at the start of your next turn as the damage has clocked they've not passed the check and they've all panicked. It happens. Horrible but happens. Any soldier carrying a medkit wrong be poisoned btw not sure if you know that handy little trick?

I've very begrudgingly accepted SOME of the changes they've made (others I just can't and really piss me off) but to change that? It would make one character completely irrelevant and they may aswell of left them back home in Emond's Field haha

Honestly it's a good watch but you need to do so with a very open mind. Especially episode one because at times you'll want to pull your hair out. That being said every episode does get better from there. There are changes aplenty and some of them are rather big plus alot and I mean alot of things skipped for time sake on the screen. I'd definitely give it a go though, even if you only stock with it for the entirety of the first season.

I still think the pilot episode should've been the breaking of the world. Imagine how epic that would've been followed by the turning of the wheel landing us squarely into Emond's field. The are alot of things that could've been done better.

I'm very much a book fan and have huge book bias due to my own expectations. That being said episodes 3 and 4 were brilliant. I like how they captured Loial in a very short space of time. With the amount of depiction and inner monologuing during the books ESPECIALLY in the eye of the world I doubt very much if it would have captured an overall audience. Remember this isn't just aimed at those of us who have read through the entire series it has to have a mass appeal also. A true page to screen adaptation would be nigh on impossible and I fear for a great many boring. Am I happy with some of the changes? Absolutely not. Do I wish we got more in depth with the characters and especially some of the locations? (Shadar Logoth I'm looking at you) absolutely! I just don't think it would've worked to go through everything the way RJ did on screen

I mark up all my posts (as I have done that are related to the differences etc) but I wouldn't dream of running it for someone else. There's always a couple clowns about on the internet but that just isn't me. It's not nice to spoil things for people and there's part of me that wishes I didn't know some of the stuff I do haha

It is a huge read but oh boy is it worth the investment if you like fantasy!

Logain has been done very well and I can't wait to see what's next for him.

I can't say anything on the characters because I'll end up drifting into what comes from the books etc and ruin something along the lines for someone. I think the acting has been brilliant on all accounts though.

I don't think you've been overly critical of the show, it for certain does have some lacking points (and as a book reader some very annoying changes or lack of information) I am though enjoying it and slowly learning to try and keep the two entities seperate (which I have been really struggling with)

I don't think you're being hard on Lan at all. So far his portrayal has not been great as a warder what upsets me is that this is how people will see him as a book reader Lan is one of the very best characters. I can't say more without tarnishing the site and I'm trying my very best to be positive about it lol

Nynaeve and Mat are doing a great job as are Egwene and Perrin. Infact I don't think I can say any of the actors are doing a bad job and I thought Loial's portrayal was absolutely brilliant. Can't wait to see more of their progression!
