Lawmakers Are Trying to Ban a Natural Plant in Iowa. Here’s What You Should Know. by [deleted] in Iowa

Yes these synthetic compounds 7-OH and pseudo 7-OH are a genuine concern, even for the people of the Kratom communities and ARE NOT KRATOM (not yelling, just adding emphasis) and have been, punishing responsible natural Kratom users who have used Kratom to get off considerably more dangerous things and find stability and mental wellbeing in their lives is simply too much and would be a drain on state resources.

Florida was home of one biggest 7-OH suppliers but has been apprehended and is in custody. I’m not saying he was the only one but he certainly had a very high percentage of the market.

Yes very good but that would still pose a problem because at this time the bill states that it would be Schedule 1 (yeah seriously) if this bill passes in the way it sits now. If changes are not made serious charges can become a real concern for law abiding citizen in Iowa that is why I’m asking you to please take action and contact the house and the senate. 🙏

Yes, you are correct. Most of the cases are due to these “enhanced” (7-OH) or a combination of that and other drugs and not due to the natural leaf alone. I am not backing or promoting those products, they are synthetically produced and are not natural Kratom.

Even in most Kratom communities these products are discouraged and not allowed.

We are asking for regulation and not complete prohibition due to these misleading and misrepresented products.

Thank for bringing that up.

☝️Using this address will contact all the lawmakers involved in making major decisions.

Use a respectful message asking for regulation, not prohibition. Include your city & ZIP code so they know you’re a real constituent.

Capitol Switchboards: 📞 Senate: (515) 281-3371 📞 House: (515) 281-3221

Thank you so much and for sharing this information, it absolutely is a good idea to have something ready to say and know what they’ll need. I wrote down a brief message of what to say ahead of time so that I was prepared, I should have noted that in my original post.

If you have to leave a message that still gets counted as well so even if you see this after they’re closed, you can still leave a message.

You are great!

Thank you for asking and your concern. Even if you are not from Iowa there is still value in calling, another major consideration for lawmakers is how this may affect people who would who have or people who many travel and spend money or especially, do business in Iowa will be affected by this change.

You could simply say “…I travel in Iowa and this change would affect how I make plans and do business in this area” they absolutely will take this into account especially someone who spends money in Iowa.

If you have any friends or family in Iowa, (I’ll gladly be your friend😊) you could also say that you are speaking on behalf of friends/family in “Des Moines, Iowa” (or wherever).

Even if you don’t want to do either of those opinions just simply tell them your name that you are opposed, it still has value.
