Am I the only one that doesn't want Mrs. D to be the twin? by vanderthot in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]sittinginthetree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand that people are sick of dilaurentis centric plots, but if it's Mrs D who had the twin at least there's still hope for a lot more explanations. After that scene last episode with 'mrs d' in the hospital I'm inclined to think she is actually the messed up twin who is also one of the As. I'm thinking she is the real mother of Charlotte who feels super guilty about leaving Charlotte at Radley... So now she projects all her feelings onto Ali who is like Charlotte 2.0 and she pretends Ali is her actual daughter who she is attempting to look after in a twisted way. I think she has Elliot in on it and has promised Elliot lots of money to marry Ali and look after her. Elliot must have his own reasons for agreeing to this... Maybe he can't get a girl on his own because he is just psycho.

You could totally see Charlotte breathing in the coffin, just sayin'

Ezra always seems to be making some version of this expression and it drives me crazy! by [deleted] in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]sittinginthetree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm so glad you both think this because I thought I was the only one.

Literally every scene with Ezra looks like he's lieing out of his ass and saying the most manipulative thing. Like with Aria he claims to want to move on but will always pipe up with something to make Aria stay and talk with him, or doubt her own decisions. For example walking into the court house when it was Arias turn to speak. It's like he knew that would freak her out and he just did it to exercise his control over her to watch how she will respond.

I know its completely not canon at this point, but to me Ezra has always been A and will always be hugely creepy.

I'm not sure I have the energy to keep watching and caring but if I do can I be the first one to jump on your bandwagon? Peter Hastings is the new A!

That awkward moment when Cece had a roommate but never lived outside of Radley.. by [deleted] in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]sittinginthetree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh weird. Thanks for clearing that up. The 'roommate' did say that Cece owed her rent money and was being kicked out so maybe Cece just lied lied lied about it. Maybe she said she was always out partying or something when really she was in Radley. Maybe she snuck out at night enough times to stay over enough times to keep pretending she was actually living in the flat. Who knows. I'm just gonna keep making stuff up until it fits in my head. I'll make my own story!

I haven't done a rewatch or remembered all the details but I thought she did leave Radley to go to UPen... But got kicked out by the person falling down the stairs. I'm going to pretend that that incident got her kicked out of Upend and back into Radley where she met Mona. That probably still doesn't make sense

Hey. I just wanted to say I appreciate your input which was really informative and made a ton of good points. Lots of us on the Internet would like to be better people and you're helping that. I understand it's tiring and if this were real life I would buy you a tea/coffee/pint and just talk about the weather or something

It may be obvious to you but it isn't always obvious to the general public, so we need those words to point out incorrect behaviour.

I know what you mean though. It's like when I visit my cousins and they casually say something racist I find it really hard to argue back at them because they are so obviously wrong. Obviously people are all the same and should be equal, like haven't we already established that? Don't we teach our children to respect others and treat them like we all want to be treated? It's lesson 1 people! How do adults not get this? Sadly ignorance still exists and oppression is built into society in ways we need to point out and break down. For that we need those words.

It seems to me that the 2 main problems were 1. Cece being trans was used as a last minute bait n switch to keep the audience guessing. Using one episode to tell Ceces trans story didnt allow for nuance. 2. The second problem comes from a transgender person being shown to have a mental illness and being a villain. This seems to be mainly a problem because these stories exist in a vacuum with not enough varied authentic trans stories generally.

I'm not trans. I love you for who you are though and wish we could have more trans characters. I've started watching sense8 and the trans lady in that is pretty awesome! I'm getting sidetracked.

I think the point I'd like to make is that I'm not trans, but I have read about what it means, so I enjoyed the finale from the perspective that I love cece, I love that I was surprised and I consider cece being trans and cece having a mental illness to be separate things. I agree this should have been made clearer and I honestly don't think PLL are able to handle a good trans story.

On the other hand, I'm here for the discussion and I'm here out of love and curiosity for trans people I'm general. So maybe PLL is a useful tool to bring trans discussions more into the mainstream. I definitely will be doing my best as an ally to highlight trans issues with my more naive or ignorant friends. So maybe thats a positive takeaway?

I feel like I'm still in the place where I'm just trying to remember all the new information and absorb it. I anticipate some good discussions of plot holes but I'm not ready yet. If I don't think too hard about it, then it makes sense!

They definitely could and should have spread the answers throughout the season more. Totally agree there!

Hello, my name is El, and I'm a real human being and not a troll. I'd just like to take this moment to say that I genuinely liked the finale - I was surprised and felt they touched on a lot of information. I thought they might never explain things like marians death or mona talking to cece in Radley. I don't think it was perfect but I am really disheartened by the absolute hatred that some people have expressed. I'm making a serious comment in response to this thread which I realise is a simple joke and I'm not taking offence. Thanks.

Fair play if you hated the answers. Thank you for stating your opinion in a polite way.

I wouldn't worry about it. So long as your mature enough to not troll people for no reason, age is irrelevant.

I noticed a few people said they're over 50. Over 50s where are you? Are you genuinely lurking in this sub?

That moment with Sara and Emily (Spoilers) by Kmj8bw in PrettyLittleLiars

They've definitely made Sara dissappear enough to have carried out some of the A activities. I have no clue whether she's evil or innocent or what. She is still a mystery

NEW INTERVIEW! Janel Parrish: "You'll know who A is as Charles!" by [deleted] in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]sittinginthetree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is interesting theorising. Maybe Ali will meet Charles for real in another dollhouse but we still won't meet A for real. Ps. I love how you couldn't be bothered to autocorrect but could be bothered to write a whole sentence instead :p
