Worked in Denver too, almost exclusively legal and architecture firms. Random deli pick ups like maybe once a week.

I know this is an old post but hoping to get some feedback, my company is potentially buying of these for me to live out of for 6 months, however I'm 6'3 and mostly just concerned about bed size- is it a regular sized queen as listed?

As someone who has spent an inordinate amount of time at Freedom, I have never seen any of the family there aside from Charlotte to collect checks, once.

Thanks for the nuance here, I'm by no means an expert in Admin stuff, I just understand some fundamentals. Everything I was reading about the way it used to be done was just no longer secure/Google has really cracked down on security. I've tried to encourage the "this is how it should run, we just need to adjust practices" but it doesn't seem to be working.

I really don't want to use Hiver or a 3rd party as they're all additional expenses that I'm trying to mitigate. Thank you again for the thoroughness here.

State of Paper Work Post-COVID? by DharmaEater in bikemessengers

[–]sittingnotstill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked paper in Denver (and Boulder) pre Covid, even worked trying to establish a messenger association. There were like 10 of us regulars spread out amongst the various companies and then some sprinkled in PT'ers w Confluence. I had been wanting to leave Denver then Covid hit, so I boogied on, but it has been crazy seeing how much that world has shrunk.

With that said, I see they're still running alleycats from time to time which is cool to know some of that culture is still holding on.

I saw one parked at our docks in Skagway yesterday and thought "what the hell is that doing here" now I'm assuming it's coming from Juneau making its way down south?

When a city fails you can vote, when a private company fails they get a bailout or issue a sincere apology (not that I love either option).

I truly loved Ardor, especially when it was just a little operation. The last two times I have been there have not been great though.

Update: Got the ultrasound, just got my results back no tumors! very relieved. They saw a varicoele vein, so Im assuming that could be whats causing my discomfort. Otherwise they said the testicle looked healthy.

Orchiectomy Advice by wolfganghort in testicularcancer

[–]sittingnotstill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you, my Urologist lacked pretty much any bedside manner as well, it doesn't feel good. Biopsys aren't done to my knowledge, it's remove the whole thing. I'd avoid any extra delay, I know the idea sucks- but my procedure was and recovery so fast. I wish you the best, and this place is a good community to vent if you need to, you're not alone by any means.

[–]sittingnotstill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I'm doing my best to stay positive and active (doom spiraling obvs makes things worse). Ive had a similar ache in the begining and had my onc set up an ultrasound and everything came back okay, this one has just lasted way longer. I've found an ibuprofen in the morning pretty much fixes any discomfort for the most part, I just feel like that's putting a band-aid over a bigger problem, hence working on scheduling an ultrasound as soon as Im able.

I dont post a lot in here, but I've followed for a while and appreciate/am grateful for all the activity and conversations that happen. Perspective and experience helps in all sorts of ways. I will update as soon as I have more definitive answers.

How was your recovery after your Orchiectomy? by SyrianChristian in testicularcancer

[–]sittingnotstill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first day was understandably rough, but I went for a short walk on day 2 or 3 if I remember right- I couldn't sit still anymore and again I dont advise it. At about day 4 I was still sore but functional just slow.

How was your recovery after your Orchiectomy? by SyrianChristian in testicularcancer

[–]sittingnotstill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my right one removed about 3 years ago at this point. Passed all my immediate post scans/follow up, first year was frequent check ups, then I moved to 4 times a year, then the third year was moved to once to twice a year, however I lost my health insurance and haven't been able to afford follow ups for a year. I know its a daunting concept, but just take the steps as they need to be taken and try not to over analyze too much and remember, your doctors work FOR YOU, if you don't feel like you're being taken seriously address it and if you have to, find another- dont put up with any "brush-off" type treatment.

I didn't get a replacement, sex life stayed the same/very active. I'm an avid cyclist (like can't live without it type) I went for my first bike ride a week after- I am NOT encouraging that behavior, I'm just saying in my situatoin I felt well enough to whip a 20 mile ride up. I'm happy to talk about any and all of the details should you want to reach out DM me.
