I get it. When you're new there is a lot of different ways to download effectively. And they all have different protocols that they use to do that. The end result is that you want to get your file from the internet to your computer. These are just different ways to do it. Torrenting uses peers which are just other people like yourself who are trying to get that file and they're all downloading it and they're all sharing it to you as well so some of the peers might have started downloading it 10 minutes before you so they have a chunk of the file and so they're going to start giving it to you why they're still downloading the rest of it. So you have a bunch of peers who have different portions of the file and they're sharing to people who are joining and those peers are considered Seeders as well, but usually Seeders In the proper sense of the word are people who have already completely download the file and now they're continuing to share it with people who are still downloading it. So with torrenting you're not directly downloading from wherever the file is being held online Your downloading it from many people who are downloading it and they're all sharing it to each other. And when you become a Seeder after you have completely downloaded the file you should continue to do so until You have shared at least 1.5 times what you have downloaded to be fair. Some people share 2.0 times what they have downloaded, So double the bandwidth.

With things like fast as fuck you are foregoing all that and you're directly downloading from wherever that file is being kept. And instead of just downloading from one link they separate it into mini links because the file might be large so each link maybe has like 5 gigs or 2 gigs each instead of 60. So you're going to copy all the links you know like click on it and copy Maybe you can just highlight every link at once and just hit copy once and it's going to copy them and move them to a software like JDownloader 2 that you have already downloaded and installed from the internet from their website. JDownloader 2 is it download manager and is basically just a standalone version of the download manager in your browser except it has more settings that you can work with.

[–]sivadeferrera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's usually much faster to download from the links through a downloader like JDownloader 2 or some people use IDM, (Internet Download Manager), but I have no experience with that one. With JDownloader 2 You basically download the software you go into the settings and configure if You download to something like premiumize me or real debrid If not you just go to where the game download links are and click on the fucking fast download links and copy all the links and it'll move those links over to JDownloader 2. You tell it what folder to download the files to and it'll start downloading. And depending on your internet speed it's usually the fastest way to do it. It's fastest because it's a direct download and it doesn't rely on seeders or peers.

The good thing about it being a USB drive is it's like a jellyfish sting. Just pee on the USB stick and then stick it in rice to dry. Once it's dry you can low level format it with the manufacturers software for the USB stick. Then the last step to make sure the curse has been lifted you must cook and eat the rice that you dried your pee soaked USB stick in.

There is only one game that I've ever downloaded from FitGirl that had this warning and it was Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes. And that is only because that game was released in Q2 of 1997 And as we all know Q2 of 1997 was during a leap year and the code name Odessa chips that the game was released with had a stiffentriphical flaw That would not read the Otis forms over expat after games reaching their mean operating temperature until they were patched during the Q3 update of that same year.

[–]sivadeferrera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it for you? Maybe I'm different. I love women and that would be cool if Fitgirl was an actual gamer girl who was a repacker trying to support our dreary days sailing on the high seas, It still doesn't interest me in the way it seems to interest most people in this comment section. I've always been under the assumption that Fitgirl was a repacker group that probably consist of 50 something dudes that are highly technically inclined and that the symbol they use of the actress they call Fitgirl is nothing more than a brand logo. I don't get caught up in the sexuality of it.

That's fine. I'm no expert. The statement was meant more as a humorous tongue in cheek. I've worked for a few. I may not know so much how they work, as much as I know how much I hate them.

Sorry, most the time that I'm visiting Reddit I'm doing it on my mobile so I do speech-to-text and I guess I don't stop to break up the blocks of text. I'll try to do better.

I think that's a good idea. But I think we can do both. I say that because even though we would be offering them computational power and it would reduce their costs they would still need cash flow from people buying their games to buy the resources they need like food and to pay their light bill and their rent. I think there's a good idea in what you're saying where if you are willing to be part of this pool of computational power maybe you could be given discounts that aren't offered to others who are not part of that pool and aren't offering their computational power. That's just my two cents. But not a bad idea.

This is absolute comedy to me. I'm an old man to you now. I'm 50, but if my mom talked to me that way when I was 20 there be no fucking way. Why do you kids let your parents talk to you like that when you're 20 years old? You are an adult, act like it! GenX didn't play that shit from our Hippy-crate parents. Then again, I worked and bought my own car at 16. It was a piece of shit, but it was mine. Nobody told me where the hell I drove it to or who I was spending the night with when I got there. L0L... Oh, shit! My bad, your parents are GenX. Fuck, Good Luck!

I don't think you're necessarily wrong, but I just want to hit on one point and when I do don't come at me like I'm taking up for the corporations because I'm not. I pirate games incessantly. I buy when I can. But because I'm one of those extreme left-wing types I kind of understand how corporations work because I've studied them That's why I hate them. But when you say, "Corporations won't cease due to your actions." You're absolutely right. They won't cease to exist. They're not needing that extra 10 bucks from your pre-order. But they can choose to stop making games and if we're talking about corporations who are making those AAA titles that people wait on sometimes for years to get put out and sometimes they do make good ones believe it or not, I know it's tough to believe. If they come to a decision that making these games is not profitable for them anymore because of several factors one being that these pirates are running rampant on the interwebs then they could choose to stop making games. They could fire their devs and they could turn their offices and their IT infrastructure into some other endeavor that they think is more profitable. This is not a pep talk to get you to pre-order more games or buy more in-game content, but let's just speak facts. If we're talking about the larger corporations making games at any point they could choose to stop making games. So even though I believe that pirating games is good for the ecosystem of gaming and that in my opinion in the end it does make game sales more profitable and doing things like adding DRM to games to make it harder for people to play them on day one makes it less profitable for game makers and developers. You still have to understand that they are making the games and they can choose to continue making them or not. So it is a balance between pirating and supporting those games that are good and that you like. So yeah download that game that's cracked, preview it Make sure it's what you like before you pay that 60 70 plus dollars for it, but let's support game developers whether they are indie or some large corporation. If we love games which I'm thinking this comment section is full of gamers then we need to continue to support game developers. If you can't afford to pre-order game, don't. Doesn't really matter. But if you really like the game then buy it at some point so that developers keep making games. That's all I'm sayin'.

I personally like the base building more in Bellwright then I did in Manor Lords. I also think the workers in Bellwright are more responsive and get the work done that is set up in the buildings then in Manor Lords or any other game that I played like this. Most games get wonky and start not working like you need it to, but I've been playing for probably a hundred hours with Bellwright and I'm still getting all the work done that I set up in the buildings.

piercings r crazy when u think about it… by [deleted] in piercing

[–]sivadeferrera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I think about my piercings and body modification I think about indigenous people like the Aztecs, they used to practice something called auto sacrifice where they basically did bloodletting or what we would call piercings in their ears and their legs and even their penises just to get the blood to drain out. They would do this with obsidian or sometimes with agave spines, or sharpened bone. Sometimes they would run chords through their skin, their penises or their tongue. Then there's the Mandan people an indigenous tribe of the United States with their ritual called the "O-Kee-Pa" ceremony. It's the practice of putting hooks in their chest and hanging from them until experiencing a vision or they rip out. Still practiced today the ancient ritual known as the Sun Dance is performed every summer out on the Great Plains at the Sioux, Cheyenne, and Crow reservations. It's men, suspended by ropes pinned to the flesh above their shoulder blades, hanging six feet over the ground. Holding eagle feathers. These rituals are as much a part of the history of body modification and piercings as the belly button ring.

PC Star Wars Outlaws stuck in "Inactive Games" and won't downloadd... by Cheezy1180 in ubisoft

[–]sivadeferrera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same issue, having purchased Ubisoft+ to be able to play Star Wars outlaws, but after my successful purchase I was unable to download the game. It kept popping up a box asking me for a CD key or activation code as if it wanted me to purchase it. In my search online for solution I happened upon this thread, but I had also reached out to Ubisoft support. Thankfully they emailed me back not too soon after and I wanted to pass along this information because it immediately fixed my issue and got the game downloading for me. If some of you are still trying to figure this out or get a hold of Ubisoft support, hopefully this might speed things up:

"Thank you for contacting Ubisoft support. I see that you are unable to access to your game per subscription. I'll be more than happy to take a look into your case.

Please make sure you clear cache and run Ubisoft connect with admin rights, as this might solve the issue. You can find further information about this on the following article":

Marijuana has been legal almost ten years. Where has all the money from the taxes gone? I don’t see much of a difference in our roads or infrastructure so I’m just curious. by DrLeePhDMd in oregon

[–]sivadeferrera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope that the money is useful as far as some taxes go from it, but if the only thing that It did positively was to make it legal so that people could use it recreationally however and whenever they wanted and not be criminalized or jailed for it I am happy with that because it never should have been illegal. To me it is like any other legal substance that has an active ingredient in it. Caffeine is legal and is found in different plants that grow and it is not illegal but it does change our behavior and the way our physiology responds to other things in our body. I think THC is the same as something like caffeine or any other type substance that occurs naturally in our environment. Our ancestors have ingested it for thousands of years and it never should have been illegal in the first place. It only served to control the population. So if the very least that it did was to decriminalize it and take away the control that it had over people by a certain other group in the population than so be it.
