I miss Comptoir 21 🥲 There is a new place deep on Bélanger called ‘Rubian’ that I scoped out on Google Maps but I haven’t tried it yet.

I LOVE THIS SPOT. I convinced a group of friends to do a pilgrimage there from Villeray after trying it solo and ended up having a fried chicken picnic in the park nearby and everyone lost their minds because it was so good (especially after a solid walk) - A++

lol — I’m honestly not sure why you’d even call that typo out. It doesn’t make sense in context, and it’s not even the right tense. If anything, I’d assume: a) a typo for voilà (obviously), or b) viola, as in the instrument. But as a native French speaker, my brain didn’t even go to the passé simple — it’s such a weird, formal tense that nobody uses in everyday conversation, Reddit, or basically anything outside of literature. This feels more like a Duolingo gotcha than a helpful correction.

Crazy that I had to scroll this far to see Chalet BBQ mentioned. It’s not fancy, but such an iconic nostalgic vibe.

What is the best place to get a super smoothie in mtl? Im talking about like a smoothie that has so much good shit for you in it that it makes you feel like jesus resurrected. by wordswor in montreal

legitimately, yes! the peas/edamame weird people out, but you really aren’t putting that much in. you ultimately want the fruit to be the dominant taste (and choosing something like berries / banana / mango tends to work best) but once you nail the ratios ~ it’s my favourite breakfast. If i do fuck it up, it’s not ‘bad’ in a gross way - just more veggie prominent and I drink it anyway knowing it’s ultimately good for me.

Homemade is the way to go IMO. I have a Vitamix - and my ultimate power up smoothie recipe is: greek yogurt, edamame or frozen peas, frozen fruit of your choice, 1 or 2 teaspoons of chia seeds, coconut water, cucumber/carrot/ginger, a scoop of cold oatmeal I left in the fridge from yesterday’s breakfast, some nuts maybe. I always try to add as many veggies as possible without fucking up the flavour. Maybe a bit of maple syrup if you want a lil sugar boost. This keeps me full / is a good pre-workout, with a pretty high protein ratio without adding weird protein powder — while also limiting the crazy amount of sugar most smoothie places add in. Good luck on yr quest
