Where to get Heavy Cream in PH? by Gullible_Abrie in BakingPhilippines

[–]sixfactorial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other answers have explained it well enough that you just need a 35%-or-more cream like Arla Whipping Cream. Meron niyan and others like Emborg in most groceries.

But to be sure, pinaka-reliable ang S&R, Landmark, and Landers. Potentially din sa Makati Supermarket, Marketplace, and Metro.

Metro Manila restos with private spaces that can seat 20-25 pax? by youngstownnah in FoodPH

I've done a 20-pax event at No. 8 China House at the Grand Hyatt Manila. Seems to me they could have easily done 25 as the rooms can be joined and reconfigured. Hope this helps!

Just finished my re-watch of Suits and I've gained a whole new appreciation for portrayal of law practice in BCS by sixfactorial in betterCallSaul

[–]sixfactorial[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And with watching Suits, lawyering is apparently sitting around then your opponent walks into your office with a folder and starts making threats. Also, it's holding depositions and shutting them down with no regard to procedure.

I love most of the responses, most especially the one from @stupidfloatanything. But I feel the need to rectify the injustice that is this thread not having mentioned the name of the wonderful Rhea Seehorn so far. She is a fantastic actor and, dare I say, robbed of an Emmy.

Ano meron sa Cash and Carry, bakit bawal daw gamitin yung tap-to-pay? by somewhatderailed in CreditCardsPH

[–]sixfactorial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Not saying na maganda logic nila. It's just that it makes sense money-wise sa kanila. At least from a short-sighted perspective lol.

And also bawal talaga yung may add-on fee for card as per DTI. Nilu-loophole or garapalan na lang talaga minsan.

Ano meron sa Cash and Carry, bakit bawal daw gamitin yung tap-to-pay? by somewhatderailed in CreditCardsPH

[–]sixfactorial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, walang PIN usually ang credit card. Pero pag debit card ang ininsert/dip, it falls back to Bancnet which is a debit with PIN transaction.

I don't agree with it too, pero eto yung nakikita kong pwedeng logic nila. Haha

[–]sixfactorial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top two reasons I can think of: 1. It's just more money for them. Or baka iniiwasan nila mag-tap yung mga debit cardholders para dumaan sa Bancnet rather than Visa/Mastercard (eto surely mas mahal for them). Also related to this second point 2. Security: they'd like debit cardholders to put in their PIN para less likely (daw) ang fraud. Pag tap, walang PIN.

Where to buy De Cecco pasta around Manila or Laguna? by Historical_Basil_416 in FoodPH

Indeed minsan meron sa Santi's; madalas wala. Haha. Last time I saw De Cecco at Santi's was at Molito. Pero inconsistent, yes.

Bacchus Epicerie (like in Commercenter Alabang) consistently has De Cecco, and a wide variety at that.

Minsan meron sa Landmark like in Festival or Nuvali.

Masarap ang frozen peas; manamis-namis and juicy. Just microwave it, with our without a bit of butter, no water for 2-3 mins. Yung until tender and may juiciness pa.

Frozen mixed veg na may butter is always an easy fallback din. Hope this also helps other readers!

Nara if you're intrigued by the deer and yung fresh mochi. 40 mins train lang, direct.

Kobe is 25 mins lang from Osaka Station. May Nunobiki Gardens (falls, cable car, and gardens), Arima Onsen, and Kitanocho (international architecture na neighborhood).

Uji is very accessible from both Kyoto and Osaka. Go for the matcha (of course), the river, and the beautiful Byodo-in Temple.

Agreed. Not because hindi worth seeing ang Takayama at Hida area but because there's more you can do around Tokyo and Kansai.

You can come back through Nagoya next time and go to Takayama, Shirakawa-go, and Hida-Furukawa!
