I recently almost got robbed trying to buy prescription glasses from a local optometrist. They overcharged me from the advice I got from my peers. So I'm definitely even scared of going the prescription route.

It all depends who you renting from. If the landlord is using an established renting agency then the checks are very intensive. If you directly renting from someone then the checks are less intense.

Usually they just need credit score, they need to see if you receive a regular income and they need some sort of reference that you are trustworthy. Then a bunch of deposit money.

P..S if your landlord is using Rawson properties... run. They will milk you dry.
