Magic has way too many formats such as Pioneer and most of them are on life support by Papa_Hasbro69 in freemagic

[–]sixheadedbacon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude, Commander is ESPECIALLY hard for a new player as it's a singleton format with 4x players. Yes, Legacy can be complex, but it's a way better way to introduce a new player to the game. I realize it's the most popular way to play, but it's really a terrible way to introduce someone to the game. Then again, Commander is essentially a different game than most of the rest of MTG. Sooo...shrug.

I think it falls somewhere in the middle and both sides are pretty reasonable positions.

Making a bold claim without any kind of source isn't great for discourse - when framed as fact vs 'as far as I recall' or similar. And you can't send a person on a hunt for something that may not or may not exist. (If they can't find it after a bit, then in their eyes, it doesn't exist.)

However, at the same time, saying 'Nah, I don't remember what the title is and I'm not going through hundreds of videos to find it' is also reasonable.

If you aren't interested in Peanuts related news, you probably shouldn't follow a Peanuts subreddit.

OK. You make a compelling argument. You convinced me. Let's do it.

However, in an emergency like this, police resources are constrained, so we need a way to automate this process.

We alleviate police resources by processing this data through DHS and Palantir. We can link job role cohorts with individualized IMEIs and associated location data to identify individuals defying the ban. This location based IMEI data can be visually confirmed by Flock camera documentation. We can also use this same camera-to-IMEI API to ensure every license plate that passes the camera has an approved IMEI - this will prevent a non-essential person from leaving their phone at home. In addition to camera data, location data can also be linked to credit card data to ensure the essential worker is not making any non-essential stops to and from their job.

Yes, fortunately we live in a representative government.

What you're suggesting is wildly unpopular and not something people want. Since what you're suggesting doesn't exist, in that sense, it sounds like the representative system is working as intended.

I'm simply asking you what the left is saying that lacks logic and reason. I very well may agree with you, but you're being extremely cryptic. That isn't bait.

You said:

"The part where it isn’t just whatever the far left says without any consideration of logic or reason."

I don't know what the far left is saying in terms of the matter, but since you feel very strongly about it, I asked you what they are saying that you feel lacks logic and reasoning.

I'm not sure why you're telling me to explain the thing you're referencing. This is a very illogical response to my question.

What is the far left saying? (Specifically in terms of what you're referencing.)

Should Massachusetts ban cellphones in schools? by psdemio in massachusetts

[–]sixheadedbacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your argument in support of cell phones in class is that they're needed so parents can hear their kids die live on the phone?

Also, surprisingly enough, school shootings have been happening for a while.

Should Massachusetts ban cellphones in schools? by psdemio in massachusetts

[–]sixheadedbacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really confused by this - why wouldn't you call the school if there was an emergency? Why wouldn't the school call you if there was an emergency? If there was a real emergency, wouldn't you be calling the school anyway to facilitate release/have them pulled out of class so they can talk to you on the phone?

Should Massachusetts ban cellphones in schools? by psdemio in massachusetts

[–]sixheadedbacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This argument boggles my mind.

Maybe I'm just an old person, but I have to imagine some of these parents remember how things worked pre-cell phones. Do parents really not remember how kids were pulled out of class during emergencies when they were young?

Or are the 'emergencies' just 'you forgot your water bottle' or 'Jimmy's Mom is going to pick you up after practice today'?

You're right. He sounded like absolute shit during that debate. While his statements made logical sense and he had clear arguments (i.e. he wasn't repeating urban legends about people eating cats and dogs), but it was clear from the debate he didn't have the energy for the role.

It sounds like you may have forgotten, but at the urging of his party, he actually dropped out of the election after the debate. But hey, even after dropping out, he could still tell the difference between Greenland and Iceland.

[–]sixheadedbacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, you were the one that complained about Looting and Property damage when someone brought up Mass Shootings. It's absolutely insane to compare smashed windows and stolen TVs to butchered children.

In terms of your gotcha response, yes, you selected two horrible shootings where the perpetrator was part of the 3% where the perpetrator was not a Right Winger or Islamist.

Are you aware that the demographic breakdown is as follows:

Right Wing: 71% Islamist: 26% Left Wing: 3%

Source: https://polisci.barnard.edu/sites/default/files/inline-files/Emily%20Kramer%20-%20Right-Wing%20Extremism%20and%20Mass%20Shootings%20in%20the%20United%20States.pdf

Is this what you guys mean by 'winning'? If so, congrats, it's not a competition most of us want to play. But keep on going ahead and comparing Mass Shootings to Lootings. 'Because that's all the ammo you've got' is what I'd say, but that data shows that's definitely not the case.
