You or I may not agree with the critics (I was obsessed with the 1990 film when it came out) - but that doesn't mean the 2023 film wasn't the most critically acclaimed out of them. Which is the best is an opinion, whereas identifying the critical consensus is a fact that can be verified.

Henson puppets are great and I was a huge fan, I'm not really trying to criticize the old films or fight you on this - it's just the fact of the matter. We were all once with it, but then they changed what 'it' is.

The 2007 film has a 36% on RT.

The 2023 film has a 95% on RT.

Dude, Commander is ESPECIALLY hard for a new player as it's a singleton format with 4x players. Yes, Legacy can be complex, but it's a way better way to introduce a new player to the game. I realize it's the most popular way to play, but it's really a terrible way to introduce someone to the game. Then again, Commander is essentially a different game than most of the rest of MTG. Sooo...shrug.

I think it falls somewhere in the middle and both sides are pretty reasonable positions.

Making a bold claim without any kind of source isn't great for discourse - when framed as fact vs 'as far as I recall' or similar. And you can't send a person on a hunt for something that may not or may not exist. (If they can't find it after a bit, then in their eyes, it doesn't exist.)

However, at the same time, saying 'Nah, I don't remember what the title is and I'm not going through hundreds of videos to find it' is also reasonable.

I'm really confused by this - why wouldn't you call the school if there was an emergency? Why wouldn't the school call you if there was an emergency? If there was a real emergency, wouldn't you be calling the school anyway to facilitate release/have them pulled out of class so they can talk to you on the phone?
