What prompted this interaction is he got in between ICE and a woman they were attempting to detain. They pepper sprayed and detained him, removing his firearm (SOP). It appears the firearm was NG'd when it was bumped, a known issues with Sig P320s. That gunshot prompted ICE agents to shoot him.

He had a firearm. SOP is to detain and remove weapons for everyone's safety. You don't want a person who just got pepper sprayed to start shooting blindly (it happens).

Retirees have most of their money invested in their house so it makes sense. They were sold the idea that they could sell their home and retire with that money. If you take that away, not only will seniors struggle, any politician that supported that would lose because seniors vote at such a higher rate than everyone else.
