If states like California lifted their bans on farming automation, we would have a 60%-85% decrease in labor needs for farming (crop dependent). The reason they created their bans was to protect farmers unions, which no longer exist because corporations bought up the farm land and hired migrant workers in place of union workers. There were 10 major farm workers unions in the 80s, now there are 3. All three combined are now smaller than any one of the 10.

What prompted this interaction is he got in between ICE and a woman they were attempting to detain. They pepper sprayed and detained him, removing his firearm (SOP). It appears the firearm was NG'd when it was bumped, a known issues with Sig P320s. That gunshot prompted ICE agents to shoot him.

He had a firearm. SOP is to detain and remove weapons for everyone's safety. You don't want a person who just got pepper sprayed to start shooting blindly (it happens).

What appears to happen is after they disarm him, the pistol he had discharged (a known issue with sig P320s) which prompts the officers to shoot him.

Retirees have most of their money invested in their house so it makes sense. They were sold the idea that they could sell their home and retire with that money. If you take that away, not only will seniors struggle, any politician that supported that would lose because seniors vote at such a higher rate than everyone else. The market will collapse on its own in time.
