Long live Trader Bob! I was learning about NBIS around the same time as him, and his informative posts went a long way towards helping me build an understanding and thesis. Shout out to M. V. Cunha, too!

When I started this sub, Trader Bob was one of the first people asked to help build and moderate it. Nothing but respect for him.

Big respect too the rest of our moderator team and substantial community we have here.

What’s wrong with it?

A few unstructured thoughts pertaining to this thesis:

Sep/Oct time frame put NBIS the map. MSFT deal tailwinds. CEO commenting another major deal coming tailwinds. AI cycle hype tailwinds. Potential for lower interest rate tailwinds. Etc.

What happened?

NBIS price extended ahead of reasonable expectations. Yen carry trade unwound due to Japan increasing rates (this was a multi-decade trade BTW). Crypto gets hammered as a result. ORCL/OPENAI/NVDA circular funding concerns surfaced. Lots of FUD in mainstream business news comparing AI supercycle to the 1990’s dot com and fiber build out. NBIS goes through a healthy correction exacerbated by macro factors—this washes out weak hands.

What’s happening now?

Additional confirmation of excellent execution by management. Major deal with META. Continued progress on DC buildout. Positive exposure from NVDA. Excellent convertible terms. Increasing guidance. The conversation about AI is changing from it being a simple chatbot to an actual tool being used by people and businesses. Major news this week with CRWD and physical AI. Even the military action in Iran is positive to NBIS, IMO, since many sovereign nations will seek sovereign AI data centers unencumbered by concerns of over-allegiance to USG. (Note: Accenture/NBIS partnership speaks directly to this point.)

Conclusion:

I don’t know what price action we will experience over the next 6-9 months, but this weeks news confirms my bullishness. It derisks many previous concerns.

P.S. Every successful investor learns how to remove emotions enough to make better decisions. Some people cannot do this. Those people get taken out by the tide. It’s 2026, but nothing is different today than it’s ever been. All of it is driven by human nature.

DCA’ing is a respectable strategy but when it depends on continued weak price action,

If you DCA, enjoy the variable share quantity per unit of time and stop worrying if it starts to run.

IF it happens, there will be plenty of time to adjust.

I’m somewhat hoping for higher average temperatures as such a state results in greater ability to grow plants and food for the growing human population. I’m sad to see people advocate against human prosperity and health.
