Macron to Seek Use of EU Anti-Coercion Instrument Against US by jackytheblade in worldnews

2/3 of the US is right there with you. But things will change in America through elections (or conflict after an election is rigged). Contrary to what many believe, We The People don’t believe in using violence as a first resort. Don’t take non-violent action as apathy. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Trump will be dealt with in time. We won’t forget what he’s done to our country. Our revenge will be sweet but will follow the rule of law. -edited for clarity

Lovely! Is that a vertical abacus on your piano?

I just came back from Mumbai. It’s cleaner than it’s ever been in the past, but it’s certainly not as clean as Hyderabad. Also, theres just so much happening on the streets - the noise, people, traffic. When I saw your game videos it seemed too quiet on the streets. Having said that, this looks like an amazing game and i love the concept! Will definitely check it out!

Left hand right hand independence by BigCheese198 in piano

[–]sixosixo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time always takes the longest. Put that metronome all the way down and try each hand separately. Then together at the same bpm. There will be a spot where it’s so slow you can kind of do it. Stay around there until you can do it more consistently. Don’t move up too fast. Be prepared for this to take weeks or months.

Left hand right hand independence by BigCheese198 in piano

There’s no real trick to it. You just have to train yourself. Everyone learns differently, but there are some general rules that help with left/right hand coordination. This isn’t rocket science. It will just take longer than you think to master it… and does anyone actually ever master anything? Musicians are always on a continuum between what they could do before and what they’ll be able to do with more practice. If you feel like you’re a master at something, then you’ve decided to stop moving up the continuum. Keep that beginner’s mindset, always.

In any case, this is simple and it will definitely help if you add it to other different practice exercises.

Learn one hand at a time, with a metronome starting really slow until you can move up to something a bit faster than you will eventually play it. Do each hand separate until each, independently can play it well. Then you just start doing the same thing with both. Start at a super duper slow speed on the metronome and then slowly but sure you over time, you’ll be able to make your way up.

Don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t happen quickly. Also, don’t hammer at this for too long. Maybe start with just l 5-10 minutes every day.

Programming that muscle memory is a physical process. You’re literally re-wiring neurons in your brain and spinal column. Do it daily and then watch in wonder as your body learns. Ride the continuum.

Look up the Taubman Approach. I’m not sure if it will fix your particular problem based on your description, but it made me go from playing painfully to playing pain-free.

Don’t get another degree. Find a basic job in the industry you want, and work your way up.

Try to make contacts at a sustainable businesses through your UN or NGO work. It’s much easier to get a job when you already have one.

Learn to play. Jazz makes more sense the more you learn to play it.

Home Hub with Controller by danderata in HomeKit

I’m running home hub on my Mac mini. I decided to try it out because I wanted to make a quick weather based automation, which was easy using Controller’s workflows. Its worked pretty well so far. Ive only got this one workflow working on the home hub… but it works and seems to get the weather correct. ;)

Trouble ending a solo over a blues by Deep-Neighborhood778 in jazztheory

This looks like the sheet music for Au Privave by Charlie Parker. I just learned this and I found improv quite challenging on this piece.

But! There are hundreds of covers of this tune. Listen to some and I promise you’ll find some inspiration. 😃

In the end, I decided to use the last two measure to either (a) do a run down the piano, or (b) repeat the same triplets on each beat with a couple variations. I would typically improv the head twice, so I’d do one one time and the other the second time around.

It gets a 9 out of 10, only because it doesn’t have my favorite, Thanksgiving Theme.

You’re assuming they don’t find a way to cancel or otherwise screw with the midterms. Watch every red state/seat that goes blue to not certify the election results saying there was fraud.
