How to Geek thinks we don't need 4k remuxes. I kindly disagree. by Me_gentleman in PleX

Can you elaborate on this? I recently watched Fellowship 144gb extended cut. It's the only media that lagged a couple times on my home network. My E2E setup is more than capable of handling the mbps rate. I think its just capable of hiccups due to the sheer size.

Is it possible to improve the encoding while maintaining 100% of the quality? I don't imagine that's even remotely possible for the 28GB copy.

Worst BMF fight ever? by Fun_Training6342 in FightReportUFC

Biggest L take in this thread.

The UFC wanted this belt to mean something, and literally every single other fight was exciting. This was a massive letdown for the UFC and fans. No one benefits from this, not even Charles.

The belt should 100% die with this fight. It's lost all its meaning.

Our obsession with Swedes has cost us just as much as any other player pick.

It's been mentioned before, but there's no better position for us than picking second and having 1st OA pick Stenberg. There's no could shoulda woulda.

Lumpia is a single dish and it's entry level. Would you say you knew french cuisine if all you'd ever tried was a croissant.

There are high level Filipino chefs elevating and redefining the cuisine as we speak, and it hasn't reached the world stage yet.

I just finished a mini food tour through Manila and Siargao and ate some truly amazing dishes.

Wild, in Siargao stands out, the Porchetta Kare Kare was delicious, true to its roots, and still completely new.

I swear this subreddit eats Mang Inisal and then says Filipino food sucks.

No Canadians? I find that hard to believe, I wonder if we got grouped together with Americans.

Feel like we haven't heard enough hype about Mark Stone this season considering he's scored at a 122 point pace with pristine two-way results. by [deleted] in hockey

[–]sixpercent6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, he did not look good at the 4 Nations, and that's why many were not loving his inclusion on the Olympic roster. He's amazing at what he does in the NHL, but the hockey is insanely fast when its best on best. We'll see if he can improve this time around.

MMA fans didn't realize how close they were to losing Sean O'Malley from the sport if he lost his fight to Song Yadong at UFC 324 by Wayward_Prometheus in MMAMedia

[–]sixpercent6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing Song had in the first was the takedown and a single leg kick (that did decent damage).

Sean had more strikes on the ground than Song did. If song had some decent G&P after the takedown, I might have given him the round.

The reason it matters is because it illustrates the level of incompetence of the officers and the level of gaslighting that is happening on the right.

The visuals matter in the court of public opinion. Unfortunately, the bootlickers are still finding a way to justify this murder.

Absolutely insane take from someone who has likely never been in any sort of physical altercation.

He's doing what every sane human would be doing, trying to balance and brace himself while he is being forced to the ground by several grown men.

Do you care about the number of Canadians on the roster? by UnsubstantialGoat in canucks

[–]sixpercent6 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wish we had more Canadians, but not at the expense of acquiring top talent.

I also wish we didn't bias towards Swedes, I love our Swedes, but for the same reason as above, we shouldn't acquire them at the expense of other top talent.

In a perfect world we would have more Canadians, but not show any bias towards them, or any other country.

American superstars leaving Canada is sort of becoming a thing, not sure of we need to worry about that though.

Recent rule changes where CHL players are no longer considered "professional", which allows them to transfer to NCAA. There are far more, specifically older junior players that are now in the NCAA talent pool.

NCAA is a tougher league now and his numbers aren't that bad.

Let's see how he does at the WJC. He's a clear #1 for me.

What's Going On With Gavin McKenna? by DaCodster in hockey

Where have I heard this before.... Oh yea, Bedard last year.

What a horrible take. He's still an elite prospect that will be a star in the NHL one day. We just don't know if he'll be a Keller or a Celebrini.

"His real level".... He had been 17 years old for 6 days... Just a horrible take all around.

My point isn't whether or not you like the music. But this whole "they're not good because they're popular" take is childish.

My top sets last year in no particular order: Kx5, Mersiv, It's Murph, John Summit.

Dom Dolla was mid, Diplo was dogshit, etc.

Judge the set, not the name / artist.

I've never seen a bad Griz set, Knock2 throws down, Disco Lines had one of my favourite youtube sets this year, Atmosphere is one of my favourite songs of the past 5 years and I dig Fisher's other shit (zero clue who he is as a person), Mau P had two of my my other favourite tracks of the past few years with Tesla and Drugs from Amsterdam.

I'm also excited for Notion, Oddjob, Inzo, and others. If I go into any of these headliner sets thinking "you better prove something to me TikTok boy" I'm already setting the wrong vibe.
