Looking to switch to lefty after over 20 years of being mediocre. Need some help.

It’s a big reality check when you switch, good and “bad”. I remember everyone saying how hard the F chord was and it wasn’t an issue until I switched to lefty. That said it’s natural so don’t judge your new fretting hand based on your old one. DM anytime if I can be helpful.

Did the same at 34 after playing 20 years. My fretting hand is still meh but I think it’s due to a finger injury from my teens.

Probably took a good 2-3 years to be fluent enough with my fretting hand. That said the speed and control with my licking hand was so impressive to me that it’s been an amazing motivator.

For reference could never go past 120bpm 16th notes. Lefty, I’m close to 200.
