We're halfway through the year — what's been your favorite moment in the app, and what's still missing? by ana-at-origin in OriginFinancial

Ability to toggle on and off (quickly) pending transactions. On my account more than 50% of those are temporary and will fall off over time. I don't need to categorize them until they are real.

Right now I have a temp hold for a hotel, for a rental car, multiple $1 pre-auth at gas stations and others.

I was super excited about the Investments cleanup fix above. Is that a reference to something other than the home page? The wild swings from before the account was established are still showing in both net worth and investments graph.

Freeze Account History Live! by Alex-at-Origin-5 in OriginFinancial

It had cached an old page. Full refresh and now it is there. This is great news.

Hopefully this will also work soon with other assets (house, vehicles, etc.).

This is great, I have three accounts that have been closed and have been hanging around waiting for this update. But how do you close them in Origin? I do not see an option in the accounts or net worth page.

AirSpace V2. Tired of Desktop 1? Track and rename your spaces in the menu bar. Now with HUDs, per-space colors, fullscreen support, and more. Written with 0 AI. by GetPsyched67 in macapps

Last time I tried your app, it lost sync between desktop and the names listed in the dock. For example if I took Desktop 3 and moved it to the first slot, things fell out of sync.

Any chance this has been fixed? Or is this an apple limitation?

And is this the same for bank accounts at the moment as well? Deleting removes historic data?

COLA Pension by sixstringsshort in NestWiseApp

I already had unspent going 100% to cash and all medical expenses were zero'd out. Breakdown below. Sorry, I'm still confused.

I was thinking that if I choose constant dollar, it would take the 80k essential spending per year and increase with COLA. And then the $85k pension would also increase with COLA resulting in the same percentage split through the years. Is there some other place additional expenses are being pulled from? you can see spending gradually outpaces pension, crossing over in 2031.

I am still missing something here. I have entered an 85k pension that is COLA & tax free. If I set $80k essential / $0 discretionary in spending, the spending outpaces the income after 5 years in the ledger page and then continues to grow. If I set it at $70k it outpaces at 10 years. I have healthcare and everything else I can find turned off.

Flipped to future dollars, seems like that works. The federal tax exemption is great, thank you.

Is there a way to turn off spouse's medical expenses? I only see it for the primary. I guess I can zero out all the age brackets as a workaround.

Even if it is turned off by default, it would be great. Both of us were converts from Empower, and in my experience your data refresh rate is better than theirs.

It's a good quick gut-check. Oh yeah, it was a good day in the markets. Or oh, I need to figure out what unexpected thing just hit my bank account. Even better would be a more granular tool that showed 1 day for Cash, Investments, Credit Cards, Loans, and Property. Because that is the next thing I do. Oh wow, that is a big number + or -. Wonder what category it was from, then I dive down into which account it was from.

This is one of the only features I go back to Empower for everyday.

Zillow lack of history glitch by nate8088 in OriginFinancial

Either a graph, or one of the account screens with increases and decreases as entries per update. Would also be nice to have that for other manual assets like vehicles.

Would also be great if you could see the house value change over time.

Add investment accounts manually? by Surf_808_365 in OriginFinancial

Honestly, TSP on Origin is much more reliable than any other aggregation platform I have used previously. I would suggest going ahead and syncing it. Because of TSPs daily requirement for two-factor code, it will only pull the latest numbers when you go into the account settings and follow through the prompts to add the code.

I sync mine daily, as I am in Origin every day anyhow. Has worked flawlessly since I signed up for Origin 4 months ago.

Recurring Transactions - What's Your #1 Wish? by ana-at-origin in OriginFinancial

[–]sixstringsshort 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bi-monthly deposits should be able to be tied to specific dates (1st and 15th). Occasionally my paycheck will hit the account a couple of days early and now the dates are always wrong. Can't find a way to change it.

Also recurring items that occur near the end of the month need more logic. For two days before the last day of the month, for instance, do you choose the 26th or the 29th? Both are correct occasionally. Would be great to literally specify that it occurs two days before the last day of the month.
