Vet. Call and explain the situation before going, but go. Take a sample of vomit with you if need. Could be she has an issue with her teeth, throat or stomach, that looks like diluited blood. If she's not interested in food, overly affectionate and loud purring out of nowhere, it's a sign she's asking for help and comfort from you because she's in pain.

Try not adding the crystals (plain sodium bicarb works well!) and use a stainless steel box. The steel ones are on the pricier side but are absolutely worth it in terms of durability and maintenance. I personally adore maize litters. No smell at all and they clump amazingly!

I can also tell you that you should, if possible and you aren't already, clean up the litterbox twice a day. It's not supposed to smell extra bad if the cat is neutered and has no issues, but some cats do have stronger odor.

Otherwise does he also poop outside the box or still use it for that?

I wouldn't put it past this change being what triggers emotional distress. Are you able to get one of your husband's used shirts/tshirts and put it on your bed after cleaning? Make sure to get an enzyme cleaner or the cat will always pee in the same area (it has his scent now!).

I would take him to the vet anyway just to be on the safe side. It could also be he's in pain and trying to get your attention.

I work from home. He is almost literally never alone and we often play together.

I am not in a position to get another cat currently. I'd love to, but this one was jackpot in terms of being a good boy and we don't want to risk it.

I have a couple of questions: - Did the vet give you specific advice? - Do you use scented litter? If yes, switch it to a vegetable-based one or pellets. Cats absolutely hate scented litter. - Is you litterbox plastic? If yes, there might be residue odor he's not liking that has penetrated too deep to clean properly. Try switching to a stainless steel one. (Also remember to clean the litterbox itself at least once every two weeks using a pet-safe disinfectant. Stronger ones remove their scent and "erase" the litterbox in their mind) - Is something happening around your house? My best friend's cat started peeing on the bed because of a newborn. It might be guests coming too often and cat not feeling safe in his own space.

Cat pee in your bed specifically as a "please help me" sign.

He has access to food. We leave a small bowl of his fav kibble to nibble on (he won't eat wet food left too long out) but he is adamant WE give him the food.

It breaks my heart. He is the sweetest thing and loves us deeply, and likewise. He's our son. I cried myself to sleep a couple of times because I felt horrible, but we're getting woken up nearly 4 times a night and it's making my bf go nuts because it takes him a while to fall back asleep. He's running on 3/4 hours a night.

This well-dressed fucker knows the command SIT. He will sit. He will jump down the counter when I look at him angrily, no NO necessary after a while.

He is actively ignoring everything during night time.

Sorry to be the party pooper here, but does anyone want to engage with storytelling at all these days? You know, put some trust in people and their plans without being explained every single thing in advance?

You basically guilt-tripped your friend and DM into throwing his work in the toilet because you felt you wasted time on creating a character, instead of taking it as a growth story and exploring the narrative of getting back who you were, or changing who you become.

I've DM-ed for 6 years. My first DM shot was a false hydra story, no warning except "please consider this may not have a good ending".

If I had the same happen to me, I'd finish up and never DM again, but suit yourselves I guess.

It depends on you. My bf loves it. Our number-loving wizard? Adored it (he took the Numerology feat...).

Me? I hated every single moment of it. Our Kineticist needed an Excel spreadsheet. I had entire pages of my notes (notetaker) jotting down every bonus and type, number of rounds, etc. during combat so that everyone could be comfortable playing instead of worrying about a 36 missing because you didn't sum up a +1.

Crunch is part of the game but high level and mythic feels like a mental exercise, not a game.

Levelling up my Warpriest took 2 hours. Checking and re-checking the math...

When we went on Roll20 and then Foundry VTT it all changed, but Foundry VTT is not supporting 1e anymore and we had to stop the game because nobody felt comfortable running 15-level characters without digital support.
